I ordered some DIY stuff and flavors. I want to stay away from any flavoring that will gum up my atty's and cartos. I've had serious issues will some juices ruining them. Just wondering which ones you guys have experienced as atty killers. I know to stay away from sugars and will be trying to stay away from colorings as well. I ordered some Perfumer's apprentice flavors because it looks like they dont use colorings much in their liquids. thanks guys

When I first started out a year or so ago I almost quit as many of the 510 & 801 atty's I was using would only last anywhere from a couple of days to weeks. I felt lucky to have one go a month. All the cleaning methods I read about and tried either didn't help or only added a few days. Until, I started adding 2% PGA as a cleaning agent (pure grain alcohol, EverClear etc.) to all my store bought and DIY mixes. It's cheap, doesn't change the taste and now most all atty's last months of heavy use before they go out even at higher voltages.

Have any experience with capella's vanilla custard, boston cream pie or caramel? I ordered some because of the reviews. Might have to make a sample with each and see what happens.

I've used the van custard and caramel. No issues with those that I found, and I vape VG juices. The real cloggers I have found are the tobaccos. They tend to have a high particulate content, which is even more a problem than dark colors. One thing I have found that really makes attys last is to rotate a 1/2 dozen or so. When one is starting to get boggy, I put it aside for cleaning later and put a new one on the PV. When I've gone through all in rotation, I clean them with polydent and hot water. For whatever reason the attys I have cleaned repeatedly in PGA have tied young, but it could have been from the inevitable beginner's need to constantly poke and prod attys in an effort to "make them last longer"...doing nothing other than gentle cleaning makes them last longer. Now my attys last many months...I have some still in rotation after 19 months. Seriously, I do.

The thing about boggy attys is that if you just try to vape harder on them, they overheat and will warp permanently inside, making a permanent clog that cannot be washed out. So I vape until they are just getting boggy, or funky tasting, then clean them. Stubby is the guy that started the polydent method, or at least described it clearly. Search for him and polydent if you want more info.

I have seen many people saying that everclear works great, as it is pure grain alcool.

Now I was wondering, they don't sell everclear here in Quebec, but we do have Global 40% and 94% alcool.

I work at the SAQ which is the province's wine/liquor supplyer and I get 40% off. So I will probably be getting myself a bottle of this. Just wondering, will the 40% do the job, or would I be better off with the 94 %.

Dark juice for me does gunk up ATLEAST Cartomizers. I havent had any issues with an atty yet with dark colors other then they have to be cleaned more often, but the build up is removed by a vodka bath. For my CE2's dark juices cause a ton of build up on the coils after only a day of use, to the point where you only see one solid coil and can cause the wick to harden. These are dark juices with no sweetener or known sugar of any kind, so i'm not entirely sure whats going on with them.
