Hi there. I have used the m401, blu, kr808d-1, and (ugh..) smoking everywhere gold. I was thinking of investing in some hardware with more cross compatability, something time tested and easily accessible. I was thinking either 501 or 901, both models have replacement carts through johnson creek to make things convenient. I hear the best things about the 501, but the 901 seems like it holds more juice, and the cart design seems simpler. Thoughts?

I personally prefer my DSE901 over the Joye 510 but I'm in the minority here. Either is a good choice because there are plenty of big battery mods that use either the 510 or 901 atomizers. So you get long battery life but the same vape experience as you had with the original equipment. There are also big battery mods for both that run at 5V or higher for both brand atomizers.
A really quick 510 vs 901 rundown. The atomizer of the 510 runs hotter than the 901. That means the 510 has less battery life but produces more vapor and TH. The 901 has more flavor and longer battery life since it runs a bit cooler.
There are liquids which I feel taste better at higher temps and others at lower. The strong flavors, tobacco, menthol, coffee and the like seem better, more taste, at the higher voltages (so better 510) but fruit flavors, chocolate and sweets are nicer on the 901. All in my opinion of course.

Just buy a 901 atty and use it on your 808 batts.Thats a cheaper way to try it out.Why buy a whole new kit.
Thank you very much for such quick responses! Based on this info I am leaning 901.. after 16 years of cigarettes, a cooler temperature vapor is welcome. I'm guessing a 901 makes more vapor than a blu?
A big draw for me on the 901 are the manual sealed batteries. Are all manual batteries sealed? or just 901? also how long does an eGo atty last?
Ego atty is the 510 atty, interchangeable. I buy mine from Cignot as they are genuine Joye

Does the 901 atty fit on the 808 with out an adapter? If not, do you know who sells those adapters? Also I have a 510 adapter to use 808 cartos, I seem to like the hit from the 510 right now better than my cartos, do they sell an adapter that I can put on my 808XL batts to use a 510 atty? That would save me for now from buying 510 mega batts or an ego. And I could use to save the $ right at the moment.
