Hard part is getting the per coil power needed when using Ready wires. Lowest I have found, long enough to fit decent are 1.8ohm or a .9ohm build. This equates to about 8 watts per coil running on an 18650
Jumping up to 2.5ohm yielding a 1.25 with a 12 watt kick drops lower to 6 watts per coil.
This gets frustrating knowing your so close and not quite where you need it to be.

I have started using 1.8ohm single coil builds with a cross pattern 2mm silica wick. this way I can run a kick and hit the coil with up to 12 watts. The uncoiled wick crossing over the coil acts as a flavor/feed wick and helps keep things good and wet.

On the single coil do you wrap your wire around both wicks or does the 2nd wick just lay on top of the coil?

Well, I've seen video on it, so I understand that you need non res for the wires down the side. Didn't seem like a big deal to me, although I've never tried to make it before... How would you make the connection? Can you just twist the wire or would you have to forge it together on some level?

I have the Dual Coil Magoo-S, it's pretty awesome I must say. Highly recommend.

My big interest in it is because it looks gorgeous on top of the Flip. You do have to use res/non-res wire to build, unless you get the upgrade kit which (as has been said) is yet to be cloned.

I don't have a wire-welder, I just buy the pre-made ready-wires in 2.2 Ohm from Varitube, and together they total out to 1.1 (obviously). 1.1 is a nice resistance, as I can throw the Kick 2 around 11-14W and it comes out awesome. I've been thinking of trying cotton wicks on it but haven't sat down to attempt it yet. Silica is just fine for now.

Yes, you can just twist the wires together but make sure it's tight. Give a little tug on the joined wires to make sure they don't come apart.

I just wrap one wick and set them X with the uncoiled on top. Keeps e-liquid Pop from shooting up chimney. :)

These work wonders on an Ithaka tank - looks like the added a few resistances:

Kanthal Ready Wires

Thanks for the info. The reason I asked is because my Magoo came setup with 2 wicks with the wire wrapped around both wicks and criss crossed. I normally hate stock setups but this one is great so I was wondering if your way was better. I guess I'll have to try it.

I use those ready mades all the time, they are great and yep, they've added some new resistance since I last ordered. :)
