Ok so I found something I find concerning but I'll introduce myself first. My names Tony, I was a 2 pack a day smoker for 9 years and finally quit in January thanks to e cigs. So this is my concern... There are two b&m's within 5 miles of my house and I like there juices equally ( that is to say nothing tastes odd about either one). Both stores say they use a 60/40 pg/vg mix. However I noticed when I washed my tank out with warm water from store A the liquid turned white-ish foamy-ish and rinsed out rather easily. From store B when I rinsed my tank out it took REALLY hot water and vigorous shaking to clean it out. Which reaction should be considered normal? Is one unsafe?

Hi Tony, great to see you here on the ECF.

So VG is thicker than PG and so you'd expect a higher ratio VG juice to be thicker and slightly more 'clingy' to the inside of the clearomizer walls when cleaning. Most of the juices I vape are 100% VG and they do need a good bit of shaking and agitation to remove all the traces of the juice inside the clearo. I would say this is perfectly normal.

That said, you say that both stores have the same ratio on their juice bottles. Usually flavorings are PG based, and so maybe (and this is a pretty big maybe) one juice has more flavorings and they didn't include the flavoring PG in their calculations.

I am not sure what the whitish / foamy reaction you are seeing. I have not had that happen with any juice I vape. I am not saying it's normal or abnormal, only that I have not seen that with my own equipment. It could be something simple like a flavoring they use that I've not vaped before.

If the juices are indeed similar in ratios, you should notice that their viscosity is similar inside the bottle, although it's hard to notice a difference of less than 10-15% in the ratio by eye.

As for the question about safety, I cannot possibly answer as I don't know the vendors we are talking about. I would suggest you have a chat with both vape shops and maybe take a sample of both juices and ask for advice with them. They should have no hesitation in answering most of your questions - if not, it might be time to find new juice vendors.

are they house liquids or brands you've heard of?

if the "stickier" liquid is a brand, try some searches and see if anyone else has had the same experience. however, if the stickier liquid is a house brand, just ask the store; they should be willing to discuss their ingredients and/or explain why it was "stickier" (for lack of a better word).

good luck.

you to ecf and the wonderful world of vaping. From the looks of your avatar, you have a couple of good reasons to keep on vaping. Good luck to you. :)

Hey thanks for the quick reply guys. I talked to a buddy of mine who is going to the U of M for chemistry and he said he would take a some samples and tell me exactly what is in them ( lord knows when he'll find time). I found out The Plume Room is now based in MN and have read great things about them on here so I think I'll avoid both stores and order from them till I get a final answer.
