I currently have the Bolt, joyetech 18650 mod, and 2 ego-t's 1000mah. My question is I want to upgrade to a Provari, but I am not sure that I should get the VV provari. I exclusivly use CE-3 2.4-2.6ohms, smoktech DCT tanks, and now vision ego stardust 2.1-2.4ohms. I do want to get the best vape, but I also want to keep it simple. Should I just get the provape-1 to keep it at 3.7v, or should I invest a little more money and get a vv provari. I do know that I would like to keep the voltage as regulated as possible. any help or opinions are appreciated.

Do yourself a favour and get the ProVari. It truly is the best for VV and you will not regret it for a second.

I agree, I love my ProVari, I have a handful of VV mods (see signature) and a kicked bolt (VW), and by far I like the ProVari the best, it has the most solid feel.

Have 4 vv devices. 2 are Vari's.

Had the Mini in the past.

There is no functional difference between the standard or mini. Just lines or teardrop decals and battery life if you don't buy the extension for the mini.

Unless you prefer the look of one over the other go with the option that has the battery life that suites your day the best.

For me that is the standard. May get another mini in time with extension but 18350's just don't get me through the day. Evening just about.

Why do you want a Provari if you don't want variable voltage?

You already have fixed voltage devices. If you want another, Provari is as good as any other I guess. Actually, I didn't even realize that they made a fixed voltage device until your post. But, I went and looked, and they do!

But, with the VV Provari, you have more choices. Leave it at whatever fixed voltage you prefer, if you wish. Or play with voltages to see what tastes better at what voltage. There are atties and juices that I would have thrown out if I hadn't discovered that they were actually ok - but only at a different voltage.

Depends on what you want and how much freedom of choice you want. And, of course, a huge difference in money.

Do the variable voltage if you can swing it.

I too was a skeptic but even on your 2.6ohm devices the flavor, vapor and throat hit will change significantly ever .1 of a volt.
It really is a huge difference.

In the same 3ohm odysseus some juices are better at 4.2, some are better at 4.6 and some like 5.1. It's nice to have the option to change the voltage. You kind of don't realize what you're missing out on until you try it.

As far as the devices themselves they are rock solid and you just can't go wrong. I've had one issue from my ProVari and it was totally my fault. The device started going through batteries really fast and I had to twist the bottom cap very tight to get connection. After looking at the ProVape site I realized you have to swab the battery contact once in a while. Sure enough...one quick swab and it's perfect. They do tell you to do it as the batteries leave reside on the contacts. It was my own damn fault.

As someone who got the Provape-1 first...I'd suggest you get the VV. I couldn't get the batteries to last one whole day on the Provape-1, so I quickly upgraded to the VV, and have not looked back since! I'm not sure why the batteries didn't last a whole day, because I went from the small eGo to Provape-1. The eGo battery would last all day, so I figured the 14500 battery would do atleast the same. WRONG!

I have never tried a variable volt, so I am not sure that I really want one, my local supply store carries the ego twist, would the twist be a good idea to get, to find out if I prefer a fixed volt or variable volt devise, before I buy a Provari.

If you are not sure? Yes the best option.

I picked up a vv box before my first ProVari, Twists were not available.

Look vaping is what you want to make of it. Yep I have a couple of Vari's but in my hand is a standard 3.7 bottom feeder with a 1.5 atty in and it is a great vape.

Yes, a good idea. A Twist is only $20 - $25, a nice, cheap way to find out if you like VV.

Go VV why limit your self. I like the 18650 extension cap but IM from Texas so always bigger. :) Ok now when you get an urge to venture beyond the short list of accessories you mentioned you are capable of using most anything. 1.5 dual coils ant the best performers on this mod bot save for that its tops all around.

It is hard to imagine anyone NOT preferring variable voltage.
What's not to like?

But if you want to test out the waters then a Twist is a great way to start.
I have a Twist and I really like it.

And I'm not one to go out buying everything that comes down the pike.
But I bought a Twist because I knew it was what I wanted, and I was not disappointed.

I still use my Chucks daily, with the 4.8 volt NiMH batteries...
But the Twist is my portable "out all day" unit now.

If you are already thinking a vari get the twist or the provari. The twist is great for certain things and is a great mod and the Provari is an expensive top shelf mod that has a quality that is unmatched. If funds are not an issue use the twist as a backup. Know I should never say this out the bat here but if you looking for satisfaction and funds are not an issue, get either or both.

I'm going to take the opposite side of this and recommend that you go with a couple of ego twists. Hitting all those buttons has got to be annoying and as GrimmGreen put it, the safety device that lowers the voltage (without you knowing) which limits your options as far as dual and triple coil cartos which is always seems to lower to around 4v range. The Lavatube is the same way. I am pretty sure the Ego Twist does not have this safety device as it has nowhere to fit any extra stuff in that little battery case. Also, twisting your voltage to the right spot will take you significantly less time than hitting a bunch of buttons, going up .1v, hitting more buttons, going up another .1v. What a headache! Especially if you are a flavor changer and you have to reduce or add voltage for different tanks/cartos etc... The size of the twist is much more pocket friendly and thus more portable. With two twists you'd be only a fraction of the size of the provari AND the extra batteries you'd have to carry, plus the charger is bigger for an 18650 battery compared to an ego charger so carrying all that around is ludicrous. You'd need a lunchbox just for the Provari lol. The provari IS on sale right now but it will still easily cost over 200 bucks to get everything you need while a couple of ego twists and a charger (if you don't already have an ego charger) will cost easily less than 60 bucks. Most VV vapers who don't seek reckless throat hits hover just over 4v anyway as their "sweet spot" and the ego twist goes up to 4.8v Something to think about.

Here is a link to a couple of his videos that are pertinent to this discussion:
THE EGO TWIST IS A GAME CHANGER - YouTube

LAVATUBE FOLLOWUP - YouTube

I should also point out that he gets his products for free. If he doesn't even really like it for free just think how you'll feel with an empty wallet. He loves the ego twist as you can see. He has all three of the PVs in question.
