Which setup will suit my needs?

Hey guys. Been vaping for a little over a year now and loving every minute of it. I started with a cigalike with cartomizers, got an iTaste VV/VW 3.0, and got an SVD a couple months ago. I use iClear 16's as my clearo. I'm looking for more vapor production without sacrificing flavor. The iClear's are pretty good about the flavor if I had to say, but I haven't really tried anything else besides crappy cartomizers. If I had to put what I want in a list it would be:

Large clouds of vapor
Good to great flavor
A cooler vape, as opposed to hot
Quality build, with no leaking, and no other significant headaches.
I'd like to be able to rebuild the wick and coil. This has proved impossible on my iclears, but I know is very simple on like an EVOD or protank. I also like the idea of making my own microcoils and using cotton balls for wicks.

So where should I go? I would like to keep using my SVD, but if mechanical is the best way to go, I can always get a decent K100 or Nemesis mod pretty inexpensively. I have Efset IMR 18650's that I use in the SVD. Are these alright for mech mods? I almost pulled the trigger on a kayfun Lite, because I read it is a good starter rba, and it had great flavor, but I heard it had a very hot vapor and didn't produce the massive clouds (although it probably produces more than my iClear 16's).

If anyone could recommend me a good setup I'd appreciate it.

If you don't mind the size, SVD is a fine option, i still use mine. If you wanna go smaller, or build coils lower than 1.3 ohms, a nemesis clone in 18490 mode and a kick is a good option. I do recommend the HCigar clone over the Tobeco clone however. 101 vape has a good price on these. A Panzer clone or Launcher v2 clone, if you prefer a telescopic, are also good options and are a fraction of the price of the originals on fasttech

I think you would do ok with a protank 2 and an aerotank base, or an aerotank, but with the pt/evod coils which are easier to re-build. In general, bottom coils provide a cooler vapor than top coils. Kayfun/Russians do not provide a hot vapor if you keep the wattage down, and are easier to build on than pt/evod. Building a good microcoil and wick is more challenging in the confined space of a pt/evod cup, and the placing and termination of legs to avoid shorts and hot spots more difficult. There definitely is a learning curve. If you chose to go that route though, there is an excellent thread on the protank microcoil build here, with some excellent posts and tutorials by MacTech Vapor, 5four and others.

Any IMR battery is fine in a mechanical. I use the Efest in a mechanical all the time.

Good Luck !

Well, sub-ohming will provide bigger clouds, and drippers ( with large air holes especially ) do also. A Kayfun/Russian with a proper build around between 1.0 to 1.8 and the airhole opened wide, or drilled wider, will provide quite a bit of vapor, believe me !

Clouds depend on the build as well as the vehicle. I get very good vapor with a 28 gauge kanthal micro coil build on a pt2 with an aerotank base, but not quite as much as i do on the russian.

I don't recommend sub-ohming until you are further along in your vaping journey and have mastered building a proper coil, for safety reasons.

Your two goals of huge clouds and a cool vapor are somewhat at odds with each other ! The higher the wattage the more clouds, but also a warmer vape.

i'v been using a z atty pro on a provari for two years and still running strong, also enjoying my atomic rda on a panzer using cotton wicks for sub ohm builds, which i am still learning all of the coil builds for them, safety first when sub ohming, use ohms law with your builds to make sure u have the right battery. Rip Trippers u tube video's have been helpful to me as well.
