So I've used the kayfun lite+, Taifun GT (clone), and the Rose v2. Dabbled with high end gennies for abit, old user of the REO and drippers but now I think I've settled with single coil tanks Dual coil is too troublesome to rewick every 2-3 days. Kayfun has been the most consistent in terms of flavour, build and aesthetics. Rose v2 is great but kind of finicky to build and rewick.

Have been itching for a new tank lately and sadly I didn't manage to get onto the Ubertoot list. Kayfun v4 doesn't seem that great due to voltage drop issues. Anyway been eyeing the Taifun GT2. Any other thoughts on what to get?

I'll third the Erlkonigin. Fantastic flavor! Easy to build. A little tricky to wick at first, but once you get it, it's a breeze. Top fill with a 6ml stock tank. Build deck can be accessed with a full tank.

What's so tricky about wicking? I've been thinking about picking one up but I'm tired of tanks that flood then starts giving you dry hits.

I really wish they made a reduced chamber single coil RDTA with a glass tank that has the chamber size of a single coil RTA.

Supposedly, one places just a few strands down the vertical juice channels. When I got my first one, I was using cotton. For the life of me, I could never get a small enough amount down those vertical juice channels and got nothing but dry hits. Using rayon helped but the wicking still wasn't keeping up with my vaping style (warm and airy - I have removed the AFC and installed the 2mm posi pole holder) and high VG (70-80%) juices.

I now just snip the ends of the wicks off at the bend in the juice channels as shown in the following image. I also removed the wick ring as it seemed to be trapping too many bubbles and holding other bubbles back causing it not to wick properly. It is my contention that the wick ring is there to hold silica in place down the vertical channels when screwing on the chimney and is not necessary if using other types of wicking material.

Of course many variables are involved with wicking (PG/VG ratio, air flow, ohms, wattage, user's draw, etc) so, while this works perfectly for me, it might not for others.

From reading the original post I want to make a different suggestion than the question presented... Have you tried ReadyXWick from RBAsupplies.com? Instead of rewicking every few days you can just dry burn and rinse the coil/wick every few days. You still have to open up the tank to see what you are doing, but once you get a build setup right and wicked correctly for the RxW it can last for several months with proper care. I run RxW in drippers, and I love it. I also have a kayfun with RxW that works well. The flavor is cleaner than cotton IMO and much less maintenance. Also there is much less of a fear of dry hits as you get a nice warning with taste before it starts to get harsh. One small note is it seems expensive... I got 200 sheets of organic japanese cotton for $10 on amazon.. but a few feet of RxW is close to $8... however you use much less of it in your builds and it lasts so much longer (as long as you arent constantly tearing out your builds).

For single coil with good airflow and options look at the Delta II it is an RTA and it also supports screw in premade coils like an Atlantis or Kanger Sub-tank. I hit one the other day and it has surprisingly good flavor and in the event that you don't have the stuff to re-wick you switch out the bottom and run the .5 ohm cartridge style coil until you get home.
