Which way to go on TFA choco clear?

Hey, I'm tasting my choco clear test batch at 10% and there is hardly any choco taste at all. When I smell it there is a good choco scent to it but no taste. Should I up the %, lower it or add a secondary flavor like vanilla, bavarian cream or italian cream or EM...sheesh! I don't have any nut flavors yet or I'd try Danny's suggestion.

I mix that one at 15%, but who knows if we have similar tastes. If it gives you an idea, I mix most Capella's at 15-20% and have never mixed FlavourArt over 10%.

If you have a mint you like, you could first try it in combo with chocolate, just like you would hazelnut or almond. Just a little mint. You could end up with a peppermint patty, Oreo, Andes mint, or mint chip ice cream, depending on the mint you add.

Good standalone chocolate is really a tough one!

I got it from ecigexpress and it's their Signature series which I believe is a TFA flavor. I guess I'll bump it up and add a little vanilla and hope for the best. tnx!

chocolates, like tobacco needs long steep times..
if it hasn't set at least a week, don't bump % until it does..

I mixed some up last weekend at 10% and I think it's about the right strength but fake flavor. It definitely needs a shot of vanilla, peppermint or something. I speed steeped it in the microwave @ 20% power. I tried mixing some of it with some peanut butter I mixed up a few weeks ago and promptly dumped it out--YUCK! I thought the saltiness of the peanut butter would help--it definitely did NOT! I left it sit open for 2 days to try & get rid of the fake Hershey's syrup flavor but haven't had a chance to test it again.

TFA Double Chocolat clear is very strong. I use it in a few recipies like Almond Joy and Butterfinger. I haver to mix at 4% to 5% due to the strenght. It also gets stronger after a few short days.

I have the TFA regular Chocolat but have yet to use it. Sorry, no help here.

Thanks for the input gang. It's been sitting for 8 days and absolutely no flavor at 10%. I bumped it up to 15% with 1% vanilla and I'll let it sit at least another week before I taste it.

I wonder if it's just dead taste buds. If you tried it at 10% and you actually could taste chocolate then that's a lot more than I could taste.

Any suggestions for another chocolate that works well as an additive to coffee and dessert vapes?

dannyv45 steered me to Hangsen chocolate as about the best..
ordered it and should be here tomorrow or tuesday, so no input as to how good..
but I have a lot of respect for danny and hoosier and don't think either would steer us wrong..

I've never got mine from them. I always buy direct from tfa. Mine is very strong at 8%. It gets stronger with age too. If you still can't taste it after adding more I'd buy some direct from tfa.
Not to say they are but its possible its watered down or even old or just a bad batch.
you might even contact the vendor for a replacement. Any tfa flavor that she does not say on the tfa site is not a strong flavor should be very detectable at 10% without steeping. At least it is for me.

Hm, makes me think that perhaps I've been vaping coffee flavor too much. I'll switch out to a fruity vape tomorrow and see if it helps my buds come back to life. Thanks for the input gingersnaps!

Let it steep a week then try it. I use the TFA plain chocolate and was'nt thrilled with it. I found the hangsen chocolate cream far better at 5%. Try this recipe and see if it makes a difference

choco clear 7%
TFA hazelnut 2%
TFA sweet cream or any plain cream 2%

I would also try it with a thicker base like a 65VG\35PG

Ok crazy, son and I were experimenting last night and we're quite disappointed with our chocolate mint. So this thread definitely came at just the right time. We'll have to either wait or give it a power steep (I use hot dry rice) and check back on how it does. Btw any suggestions for good peppermint?

Vaping Zone super concentrated chocolate mixed at 1.5% with tfa double choco clear at 5% works great for me.
It's my go to chocolate flavor, but I've never mixed it as a stand alone.
It is amazing in several of my regular vapes though.

I like the TFA Mocha @ 5% as a standalone & mixed with coconut. I also like TFA Milk Chocolate @ 10%. I am going to try diluting the Double Chocolate Clear and Bittersweet that I mixed at 10%. Both are too strong and taste like Hershey's Syrup or burnt fake chocolate chips.

Another option to check out is the Chocolate Truffle from the Gourmet line at VapingZone. The Gourmet flavors are really concentrated. People use around .5% or 1%. Like the TFA dbl choc clear, it does have a bit of that fake chocolate taste (tootsie roll), but it's much more concentrated and I do like it a little more than the TFA.
