I'd hate to state the obvious, but I think the President and his administration have more important things to worry about. The biggest mistake people make when trying to get involved is leaping over all other channels and going straight to the top. Not to mention the fact that Obama can barely get a bill passed to collect his own salary at this point. A better option would be to find a Rep. or Senator who may be sympathetic to the cause, preferably a smoker.

I agree that this was put together in a half-assed manner. Looks to me like the whole thing took about 5 minutes. Sorry, but just because anyone can go on the White House Web site and create a petition, doesn't mean that anyone should.

Well, you know the gubment can't make it easy.....sign up, get the email, then you have to log in....if you are already logged in, it tends to give fits, so log out and log back in...that should fix the signing issue.

Yeah. And these are the people to whom they want us to entrust healthcare?

i have to repeat my stance...anyone that is FOR the government run healthcare should be forced to use the VA hospitals for a minimum of 2 years (that should get you 2 appointments for the duration). i scheduled an appt 2 months ago and the earliest available slot was the end of November! any meds that are labelled as "cost-prohibitive" (i.e. any drug that hasn't been on the market for less than 15 years) will not be provided, suggested nor prescribed. scheduling an appt takes hours and in the last 20 years i've seen a total of 3 Drs the rest were unsupervised residents in training.

so yep it's a wonderful thing this government run healthcare

I agree with jmp and that is a great idea .I would consider contacting local reps and or senators that handle your state .
They often answer and i have done this in the past .It was the local reps that helped my mom when her identity was stolen and someone was getting her ss checks .It was a complete nightmare .
Didn't mean to start anything here ,jmho .
Regulations also tend to happen no matter what you do ( we have outdoor public smoking bans in outdoor eateries here ) and also many apts. you cannot smoke inside your apt ) but watching your locality can't hurt and going to city hall meetings if the vaping thing came up i would consider .That was a requirement in poly sci class and i cant say i enjoyed it tho lol.
The beauty of america is you can sign or not sign to your hearts content .

Well, since 1992 I've been living for years at a time in several 'socialist' countries and have been generally satisfied with my healthcare. Of course, those programs are actually government run, unlike the one passed here. But I'll say no more since such political discussions usually end up dividing people in our forum. Like many of us, I come here to relax. :2cool:

Damn you guys I never thought of that....I signed the thing but since I never answer my phone and have a huge spam folder, not too worried....;)

Same here Plantlvr....I never answer the phone unless I recognize the number....and ditto on the spam folder. I figure it isn't that hard for the gubment to get the info if they want it, but I'm a little pea and there is no reason for them to search me out for anything.

:laugh::laugh::laugh: I knew there was a reason I love you two!!:laugh::laugh::laugh:
