My charger has been putting around 5.45 to 5.7 volts into my batteries and the charges are lasting less than they used to, I mean about half the working time.

This is the one I got from DX, works great, but maybe not so great after all?

DealExtreme: $8.81 TrustFire All-in-One Charger (for 10430/10440/14500/16340 /17670/18650/CR123A)

So any suggestions?

I need it to be "all in one", since I use 10440, 14270, 14500, 16340, 18500, 18650, and soon maybe the new 10180 from AW. (just for the fun of building a mini-mini-mini mod)

Anyone knows of a charger that just stops charging when it reaches the "specified" 4.7 volts and does not trickle charge higher if you leave the batteries on it?
I really don't need to think about a battery being charged, I hate having to count the time just so I pull the batteries off the charger,(I don't), I just want it done and ready when needed.

I'm not asking too much, am I?

:p

It's the trickle after the 'normal' recharge cycle that keeps them 'done and ready' until you pull them off...or am I misunderstanding you?

If i leave them longer than when the light turns green, they end up at 5. something, not good for battery "life".

I originally thought i could leave them there because the charger would just stop when the light goes green, but apparently it doesn't?

Or maybe I am missing something.

Hey Warp,

Lith-Ion charges don't trickle charge, once the green light is on it should turn off, sounds like a bad charger. I have a few of those models and never had a problem.

Yes, i was starting to think it might be a bad charger.
When I first got it, about 3 months ago, I really was not checking on the voltages after charging my batts, but since I have been doing it lately (about last month), it always shows more than 5v, so i guess I will have to order a couple more just to be covered.

BTW Cisco, since you are the mini mod expert/fan here, did you see that little tiny 10180 and the 10280 ?

from the 10180 link-"We recommend unprotected batteries for all applications that can use a 3.6-4.2 volt battery."
WTF? are they tryin to keel us all:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
300mah on the bigger ones, worth the effort?

It really is not about the effort but the challenge/fun of making a tiny mod that looks good, plus 300mah is almost double than most factory batteries at 180 mAh. I almost never use 10440 batteries, but i still make some mods with them. :p It works fine for a lot of people on the Janty stick, it lasts only 1 to 1.45 hrs for me, so I go with 18650s.

About the unprotected "recommendation", no comments...

yea, $5.00 each is a rip-off and the 10180 has no mAh rating and the other is 200mAh. buy a couple of each send them to me and I will make you something...:)
