My progression time-line:

August 2011] fuma (cig alike, 808 something-or-other POS), prefilled cartomizers
August- September 2011] Go-go, blank cartomizers and carto tanks, a couple of clearos (didn't like clearos I tried), juice refills, DIY juice
? 2012] Vmod-XL, atomizers and cartomizers (didn't like, sold it)
January- June 2012] provari, mostly carto tanks, vivi nova (don't love it), protank (pretty nice, but still prefer carto tanks)
April 2013] Vamo, mostly carto tanks
July 2013] learned to rebuild protank coils and love that vape so far, these are growing on me.
July 2013] bought a AGA rba and a terminator tt, but haven't attempted to build either yet.

Dates are approximate, lol.

i would like to learn about rebuilding protank coils. would you mind pointing me in the right direction?

Sure. There was a great thread about it. I'll see if I can find it. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/396220-kanger-protank-rebuild.html

You can also search YouTube for some good videos. Grimm green does one that is not so great, so watch his last and see if you can identify his mistakes. Vapor Lady does a good one, and there's another good one uh... Can't remember. I'll come back and post if I can find it. It actually might have been an evod, but they are built pretty much the same.

It might have been this one. I know I watched it, and it was helpful: http://youtu.be/hdl7glHoHkU

Yup, I started with Blu as well. I didn't know anything about e-cigs or vaping or any of the other options that are out there. Just saw Stephen Dorff's commercial one night and went to Walgreens the next day and bought the basic kit. I liked the flavors a lot but the hardware was junk. Went to the interwebs to try and find out if I could get these things to work better. That's when I discovered Grimmgreen, PBusardo, igetcha69, the ECF and the whole wide world of vaping.
Now I'm content using my Twist batteries with Evods but still like to try different clearo's and keep up on all the new stuff coming out. Seems I learn something new every day too. I still have a soft spot for Blu because that was my gateway. Still have the kit in a drawer as backup option. :vapor:

Started with the NJoy rechargeable kit that came out about 5 years ago(?). First e-cig I'd ever seen. Lasted about a month(still smoking regular cigs along with it) before I gave up and just continued smoking.

Then about 2 years ago I got a Joye-510 kit. Used it for a month or two also, again still smoking at the same time.

Tried a couple NJoy disposables but quickly decided they were too expensive and didn't last nearly long enough despite their claims.

Finally, about 3 months ago, I picked up the 510 again and toughened my resolve to give up the rotten cigarettes. Haven't smoked since.

Soon upgraded to eGo batteries and clearos. Now I'm using a couple VV batts with T2 and EVOD. Doing a little DIY to try and find my ADV. Next step is rebuilding coils but haven't had the courage to take the plunge yet.

I started with Greensmoke, decent vapour, good taste, battery life was not really an issue as I work using a computer. I worked out that at the rate I was getting through the carts the cost was about 75% of smoking so I bought a 510-Tank auto cig-a-like a month later. Then I got an ego for home use and the 510 for work. Now I use VV egos for home and work.

If cig-a-likes with pre-filled cartos were all that was available then I think I would have been OK just using the Greensmoke, albeit I would have bought a few more batteries and chargers.

Started with mail order cigalike starter kit with automatic battery, got a manual battery a week later, a passthrough a couple of months later, two 650 mAh batteries a few months after that, and just made the step up to VV at the beginning of this month. For the first 10-11 months, i used the same company for everything and did absolutely no research...i didn't even know that there was anything better than my cigalikes & 650 batteries

I started with some kind of dispoable from a gas station. It cost me $10 and lasted 2hrs, bought me another disposable that lasted about 4hrs. Needed a upgrade so I went by a e-cig shop and they tried to sell me this big vv mod for $200, passed on it, got another disposable. Went straight home looked online and bought a eGo kit and I haven't had a cigarette in 5 months.

Started with a couple of NJoy Kings then a few months later got a Blu kit. Total dissatisfaction. Dogpiled "electronic cigarette forum" & whalaa,,,, ECF was at the top. The rest is history. Stumbled across one local B&M shop while looking for another that hadn't opened yet. Walked in and after talking with the owner, walked out with a SmokTech 900mah Winder, Vivi Nova & a bottle of juice. The Blu kit went back to Walgreens. Picked up an Evod & more juice. Three weeks later picked up a Vamo & ProTank from the other B&M in town. Haven't had a stinkey since I got the Blu buit, am more happy with the better stuff.

VAPE ON !!!! :vapor:
