I just started vaping unflavored (the story behind it is in another thread) and it's quite good. Now, here's what kind of idiot I am..I thought that flavor was necessary to cover up the yucky taste of unflavored and that's just not true; there is nothing to cover up. It makes me wonder why some juice I have bought has such a horrible taste, sometimes metallic and frequently bitter..

Not sure if this has been said -- when you go buy your juice look for a DIY section -- many will sell you juice with what ever nic level you would like, just unflavored. Some will let you pick the percentage of PG/VG you would like. Some also sell straight PG no nic and VG no nic, if you want to test it all out. Freedom Smokes USA is mentioned alot. If you like their juice, you can get it all at the same place.
Yes, there are cheaper ways, especially for getting VG (Glycerine) or good grade PG -- Glycerine is on the shelf at pharmacies--Walmart probably the cheapest and many many have said it's the stuff. Some get the pharmacist to order small quantities of PG for them. You can buy a higher level of nic and thin to your preference.

What is your suggestion for menthol?

You can buy straight up unflavored from TastyVapor. I did it for awhile, mostly because I thought it might be worthwhile to avoid the extra chemicals and whatnot that make up flavoring. It wasn't bad, but I missed flavoring too much to stick with it.
Does straight PG have a ton of TH? I'm not a big fan of TH, and I'm worried that straight VG will gunk up my ego-t atty. What would be an appropriate mix of PG and VG for a mellow vape? The few straight PG juices I have make me cough and hurt my throat. Is it the PG that gives the TH or the nic? I'm still kind of new at vaping, and I haven't figured out my ideal PG/VG/nic combination yet, but I need odorless juice for stealth vaping at work. Thanks!
I mixed up unflavored 70pg/30vg with about 2-3% vodka for throat hit, it's nice..
I'm looking for little to no throat hit, though. I know I can't use straight VG in an ego-t atty. I need suggestions for the PG/VG ratio that won't gunk up my atty and won't hurt my throat. I'm just wondering how much the nicotine adds to the TH.
try 80/20 with no alcohol. I didn't notice any throat hit in unflavored 70/30 until I added vodka to it and I vape 24mg
I started ecigs with a 21st Century kit; the filled carts with it were rather rank. When I ordered my 510 kit from Mad Vapes I picked up some unflavored pg and vg (Mad Vapes has unflavored from 0 to 36mg) and have been vaping unflavored almost exclusively. I've vaped 85/15 vg/water with no problem on my 510. I'm not a fan of strong TH and vg/water is very smooth. I never smoked analogs for the taste, it was the nic; so while an occasional mint, menthol or peach is nice, for me it's not a necessary aspect of vaping.
When I said I would do as a member who mentioned he enjoyed adding menthol to his flavorless juice, I meant 'menthol' as in adding a few drops of flavored e-juice; menthol, vanilla, tobacco, etc. just for a "touch of taste", keeping the 'no-taste' essence, so to speak... About crystals or drops I wouldnt know... I have read about this but Im not a DIY guy with liquids...
For the most part PG has a stronger TH and more flavor, whereas VG translates into more vapor. Nic does play a mayor part in TH production as well. And your set up; your gear will definitely determine the level of throat hit also.
Maybe you did not notice any TH out of your technique when taking a drag and/or your equipment. 24 mg 70/30 (PG/VG) should make for a decent TH, maybe massive depending on wattage...

I use the crystals and disolve them in Everclear (150 proof PGA) by filling an empty Loranns flavoring bottle with crystals and just adding enough PGA to cover the crystals, they are completly disolved in a few minutes.
I tried 100 proof vodka but the crystals never really seemed to disolve completely.
Should unflavored PG and VG with nicotine be odorless?
I just picked some up... bottles dated about a month ago... and there's a strong bad smell when opening the bottles... i'm thinking it could be the rubber seal/bulb on the droppers, but it's not noticeable when closed

I vape just unflavored 16mg 100% VG 10%water and it is great, soft milky taste lot of vapor and almost no throat hit. it does not clog the atty.
I ordered a bottle of Halo Fusion 12 mg which is unflavored, because I have been interested in trying unflavored. It is a pg/vg mix, and my guess is 80/20.
It's not orderless, it has a very distinctive smell. Good or bad, strong or slight is subjective though. The first time I smelled unflavored nic I thought it smelled a bit strange.
Yep... But when vaping, I guess it ends up being a kind of odorless vape... Right?
i don't notice it in small (6ml) 50 50 batches, or in vapor form...but i'll definitely remember it as a point of reference when trying other vendors
