A cheerleader, shy, class clown, a punk, a soc, a jock, antisoc?
I was a nobody..noshow except for my child care class. That class was 4 hours long (suposed to be getting credit toward being a teacher) We went to local schools to be an aide or to nursey schools to get experience. That part of school I loved! The rest of the time, when I showed up, I just blended in.
Who or what were you in school?

I was the person everybody wanted to be but refused to be. I am now the one who would show up at a reunion (if I was so dumb) and they would tell me that. But...I was the one who was picked on because I could not decide if I wanted to be Madonna or Death Metal. So I did my own thing :D And that made me....the outsider lol.

Oh, and I got kicked out for bringing some of the candy cigs that had the powder you blew out so it 'looked' like smoke in middle school. Hm.

I was one of the normals. I kept a few close friends and quite a few friendly aquaintences from varied grps in the school. Never did quite fit in anywhere but the few close friends never cared. I was rather quiet also and avoided confrontational situations like the plague.

Now, I'm just a mom with only online friends. lol I keep one or two good friends (local real life people) close though. I fit in where I choose to fit in now and rarely have any trouble insinuating myself into a grp I want to be a part of. I'm still quiet upon first meeting as I like to "size a person up" so to speak. I still avoid confrontation, but if I get backed into a corner, I tend to lose it and come out with teeth and claws swingin.

:)

mainly the athletic, softball, basket ball, track.. I hate running but they didn't have anyone else lol.... Lived out in the country so not really involved in getting into trouble... Got voted in for cheerleading but I couldn't stand the mean nasty girls club and asked my coach to quit.. so wasn't popular or unpopular,, everyone knew who you were, but no one really knew you type....

Elementary school: That weird chick the guys were afraid of...
Middle school: That weird chick with the really huge rack....
Highschool: That weird, anime/computer/book/art geek chick that hangs with the guys, is way too smart for her own good and happily flips of the "popular" crowd...with a really huge rack...

I kinda hung out with every one. I had this little group of friends that consisted of people from the anime club, computer geeks, art geeks, pot heads, weirdos, people obsessed with D&D, overly flirty chicks, role players, furries, goths, ...etc...

Guess I "hung out" with the "out" crowd. They tended to have thought processes beyond that of typical high school kids...I appreciated that :D

I went to a very small high school--200 kids from 9th grade to 12th
I was the loner. I hated just about everyone; got into trouble constantly and cracked as many jokes as I could in a day if in a good mood--and when not the .... end of a joke. The rest of the time, fighting or in detention.
I spent a LOT of time in detention.
I earned the nicknames Stinky & Smokey from a group of guys because I smoked.
I slept thru most of my classes to pass the time quickly.
Gawd I hated high school.

I loved school until my Mom took my two little brothers and I 200 miles away just before I started High School. It was 1969 and the S.F. Bay Area was crazy and Mom decided to get us the Hell out.Ended up in this little country town where all the kids had know each other since kindergarten, still remember the silent stares that first day when I got on that bus for the 22 mile trip to the only High School.
I became a loner and embracing the drug culture, had a few friends with like minded tastes and got into trouble a LOT!
Ended up in a continuation HS with the other misfits and liked it a lot better.
The 70's and 80's were fueled by drugs and am glad i got out alive, some good friends didn't.
Drug free since 1991 except nic and caffeine :D

I was the social butterfly- I was in sports for awhile until pleurecy set in... long story
But I was known by everyone and half the time didn't know who it was that was saying Hi! to me- I was at the principals office quite a bit but he loved me! LOL
I was a naughty good girl- I had friends who smoked, did pot, and disobeyed their parents- I did my own thing... My friends knew not to offer me cigs or dope because I was against it - I didn't drink in school either- But I was fun and didn't judge others for what they did (unless they were strange) LOL I didn't start smoking until I was out of HS... don't remember why... & okay, once I did try my friends marijuana but it didn't do nothing to me- I didn't see the point- so never did it- Never tried anything else-
I lived in Germany most of my teenage years where drinking smoking and clubbing were the norm for teens- I did clubbing a lot!!I just love to dance- I didn't drink or smoke- My mom hated that I stayed out late but I always came home- LOL I didn't date "GI's" until I was 17 yrs old- in my defense there.. he wasn't OLD- LOL Still not legal hisself so to me, no big deal- I wasn't permiscuous (sp), when we moved back stateside, a lot of that toned down- then I went back to clubbing again-and then moved out of my parents house- still went to school, I always made it to school on time, had decent to good grades, graduated and went to college- didn't move in with a guy or get pregnant (something my mom always talked about) had friends that did and that was fine- it was their thing- I just had higher sights- was in law school when I left to get married- been back to school once since- still haven't gotten my degree but decided along another career- With my background and experience got into it w/o the degree and made more money than those with one- Now that I have resigned my position, I have a semester left and plan to finish it- I am enrolled for next semester!!
I guess I was a soc/rebel- I fit in everywhere except home- LOL
have a great relationship w/ my parents now though and they are always trying to get us to bring the kids down.. or up (my parents are now divorced- Mom is Va Beach, Dad lives about 30 min from us)- we all still get together for holidays, weekends sporatically, etc- My mom comes down here quite often and when not, my Dad goes up there... LOL strange-
PS- I warned ya'll I was long-winded

I was very quiet/shy and kicked out in the 9th grade for missing too much school or that was the reason given. Reality was that I was poor white trash and the principle did not want my kind there. I didn't miss school because I was playing hooky, I had hepatitis. I was 30 something when I finished HS at the community college.

I was a jock, and a geek, and a straight-A student. So I didn't really have a group. However, I always looked about 5 years older than I was, so the stoners thought I was a "narc" plant. (I went to HS 1977-1980, when they actually did this. Think 21 Jump Street.) So one day, some girls on my school bus who HATED me set me on fire. What fun that was.

I couldn't get away from those animals fast enough. I moved from MD to PA to attend Penn State, and never looked back. I did go to my 20-year reunion in 2000, and those ... clowns didn't bother to show up. Go figure. I guess their parole didn't come through..........meow!

Success is the best revenge!

Our Class of '65 had 22 kids in it! So everybody was a friend, some of us really didn't have 'best' friends, but we all loved and still love each other. I was a cheerleader 4years, was an honor student (otherwise the first wouldn't have been allowed) and was in forensics too, my Dad was on the school board and was my judge for one year! I did the Ballad of Sam McGee, in the land of the midnight sun..he was amazed almost in tears. If we drank, it was to share a 6-pack somebody "got" from home with about 10 other kids, but only a few had cars then, so every date was a joint effort...I was 'good' mostly!! I always had a lot of trouble with memory recall, so study was my thing, would stay up all night before tests just going over the names and dates I needed to know, and was too tired to be nervous. Loved math and trig and geometry and algebra, got 'stuck' on chemistry and trigonometry though because of my faulty brain, but loved it anyway. English was the one I had to work at. Sentence structure, argh! Our teacher was really great, but was a stickler!
Had to work (waitress), also, my sophomore through senior years and summers, so was usually not privy to running around so much on weekends. (I didn't have a car!) Never did get my Mustang. I have only missed one reunion in all these years, really enjoy seeing everybody. Next year will be our 45th!! Yikes.

Pre-K to 3rd grade I was "that girl in detention" always in trouble. usually for fighting or "acting out" (having manic attacks)

4th-6th I was a nobody, smartest kid in the class but not labeled as a nerd or a geek since I was invisible to everyone but the teacher (or so it seemed)

7th - high school graduation when asked to lable myself I did (and still do) label myself simply as "a freak" . I was a combination of a clown, punk, goth, geek, and a bit of a bully all rolled into one. Though I forcefully point out that I never bullied the outcasts, the ones most bullys pick on. I bullied the bullys, the jocks, the preps, the ones that thought they could push and walk all over those they thought were beneith them. I liked some punk music but I was picky, some days I looked like a punk, others I looked goth, but always I was myself and wore or did whatever pleased me regardless of what others thought. Unfortunatly that group of people has gone the way of Twilight and is now a socially acceptable fashin statement rather than what it was truely ment to be ....it disgusts me. (enough on that or I'll never shut up)
