Who would like an auto "donation" for PV studies by your supplier each time you order?

Would you like a small charge of maybe $5 added to your order to be donated to your supplier on each

  • Yes, definitely

  • Not sure but tending toward yes

  • Not sure but tending toward no

  • Never! Are you kidding? Crazy idea!

I'm not hep on the "auto" parts. $5 does seem rather high too. I think if it's auto it should be only $1 and then if people didn't catch it they wouldn't be too upset. I think the voluntary approach is a better idea. Also, who would be in charge of the money? How could we be sure the money went where it was supposed to go? Who would decide how the money is spent? I usually don't donate to things because so much of it does not go where it's supposed to go. Yes I'm a skeptic, sorry.

I agree.... automatic is out ! If I didn't have a choice with information of that non choice, I would simply move on to the next supplier.

If a supplier wants automatic they should incorporate it into their own selling price and donate it out of "their" pocket to whatever they figure appropriet with a disclaimer stating what its going to.

At least then the purchaser would have a choice if they wanted to continue making that purchase based on their own decision to support or not.

Thanks everyone for taking the poll. Right now as I view the results, it's: 4,6,6,4 (evenly broken for both points of view)

I posted the poll because we need the studies done ASAP due to possible or probable FDA action. Like Sun pointed out, China will not likely do any studies, so it would fall to our own suppliers.

However, since we would all benefit and vaping might be shown to be healthier, I thought many people would desire to contribute ASAP. I picked the $5 because it was about the cost of a cup of Starbucks coffee... a do-able amount for most people, and because $3,000.00 divided by 5 equals about 600 orders. Considering the problems some have encountered in customs and the complete sell out of supplies in 12hrs, I'm guessing that the most popular suppliers would only accumulate about $3,000 in a 2-3 month period. Then, the study... another 3-4 months. Total of about 7 months. And, we may not even have that much time...

As far as trusting the suppliers relative to money, I'm trusting them far more than that right now because I don't have a gas chromatograph to analyze what is in their eliquid.

I think that having the person to opt out may fall under Negative option billing and may be illegal in some states. Though having an optional (unselected) checkbox sort of like how paypal does it for select charities may work.

Has anyone even properly registered and chartered a 501(c)(3) for this? This may be jumping the gun a tad. But one problem I could see is that a untrustworthy seller may pocket the money people donate.

Hey, Rat, followed you on the first part but lost you on the second part. What is a 501(c)(3)?
