Whole vaniila bean extraction

Has anyone used whole Madagascar vanilla beans for a juice. I just got some in from My Spice Sage for free with my order of curry and masalas.

Is there a way to do a vanilla extraction without using Everclear. I have some but im trying to avoid using it.

Everclear tends to be extremely harsh...I started a trial here. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/610977-vanilla-extraction.html.

You can extract into PG if you don't use alcohol.

my Madagascar beans have been steeping in pg for 2 weeks now. I got 10 beans cut open and dropped into an 8oz bottle of pg. gonna let it sit for a very long time then start the filtering process

Interesting read. I was considering a very quick dip overnight in as little PGA as possible and then add them to some PG for a long nap.

I only have about 6 beans about 5" long.

You can try a mix of PGA and PG. The PGA is a better solvent, works faster.

You can use PGA and after extraction let it evaporate off. This will take some time depending on amount and method used for evaporation. After the PGA has evaporated you can then add it to PG or VG for use in your mixes. One critical step that must be done with any vanilla extraction is filtering. Organic matter from vanilla extraction will quickly burn and gunk up your coil. A very fine power (vacuum or pressure) assisted filtering is a must

Thanks!!!! Ive been looking for something like that for awhile. It looks like you can stack a couple also if needed.
