Analogs just Caught on. So people use it.

Kinda like "Steeping". Steeping to me Implies Heat in some Fashion. But everyone says Steeping instead of something like "Aged".

You know, if you don't over-think the analogy, it makes perfect sense and I find it humorous. When I mentioned to my wife that ECF folks call smokes analogs, she got it immediately and laughed. Everyone I have mentioned it to, i.e., smokers, laugh as well. It's become a good ice-breaker, if you will, and a point of separation to explain the difference quickly to smokers, i.e., "high-tech."
