why are most of the 30 amp, hi-drain batteries flat tops?

The panasonic NCR18650PF doesn't have a big enough button to work with the provari, which is really the only APV of interest that requires button tops.

Really disagree, strongly. It's a matter of physics. More contact area equals more contact equals better conductivity. Not too complex. No biggies.

Nipple tops have more than enough contact area.

We're talking the difference between hitting a kitten with an RPG or hitting a kitten with a Stinger missile, either will more than get the job done.

Considering it's "funneled" down to a 510 connection pin anyway, I'm going to say that the amount of contact area to the battery flat top v.s. button top as long as they're both making a good connection is non-issue...
