Why are my dual-coils half dead in a day?

Out of my first pack of 5 dual-coil LR cartomizers, one was DOA and I seem to have ruined three. They all went like this:

1. Add about 30 drops at an angle from the mouth-side. Wait 15+ minutes. vape. Everything is great and there's popping and sizzling with every button press (eGo).
2. At first hint it might be getting a little dry (end of the first day or start of the next), add 10-25 drops as before. Immediately after this, performance drops off. Heat, throat hit, and vapour production all cut in half. No more popping and sizzling. Sometimes gurgling.

So, basically, they seem to half-die right after the first top up. They seem like they're flooded, but I've read of people filling them initially with more than the combined total of what I've put in.

It's been three in a row. If they stayed performing like they did pre-top-up (sizzling and popping) for a few days they'd be great and worth the money, but they're really only performing for a day.

Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? Is there something else I should try?

You sure you are not running out of battery?! These things use up batteries like crazy!!

Could be a bad batch, but I still say it could also be the juice.

One of my favorite juices is quite thick and dark, and when vaping it in carto's (tried in boge, bloog and smoktechs), it looses all flavor in a couple of hours.

Off course I can't be sure that this is the case here, but you may want to try some different juice, if you have any.

You can also try cleaning the carto's and see if they get their performance back.

Sounds like you got a bad batch of cartos.

Swedishfish nailed it. I've run dark sweet juice in mine without problems but yours sounds as if you got a bad batch. Please contact the vendor. If you have a multimeter, check the ohm rating. It sounds like one of the coils popped. It should read 1.6ish...if it's reading a lot higher then a coil has croaked.

You said gurgling. You are flooding them.

Drops is not any sort of measurement to go by, specifically when trying to compare what you are doing to what someone else does. The regular XL sized dual coils hold about 1.8 ml. - If I wanted to go by drops, that's about 60 drops from a back woods brew 30 ml bottle/dripper - it's about 30 drops from most of my glass bottles with eye-dropper-style drippers - it's about 50 drops from a madvapes 60 ml bottle dripper - It's about 40 drops from most of my 3 ml plastic bottle drippers.... etc etc etc. And, any of those examples will change with a different ratio of pg/vg - and any of those examples will change a bit from bottle to bottle.

Gurgling = flooded. Blow some juice out and fire one up again on a fresh battery.

+1 on the multimeter check. 1.6 ohms = not popped. 3.2 ish ohms = popped 1 coil. 0 ohms popped both coils.

I hope this isn't a hijack....it's related. And it's about amps. I'm surprised that an eGo, or most any other 3.x volt device is popping the dual 3.2 ohm coils in these things. They'd have to be totally dry at a particular coil for it to even think about popping.

You need over 2 amps just to fully power these things. I run 3.0 ohm atties on a 5 volt device and they don't pop. TWO 3.2 ohm coils on a 3.4 volt device..... nah. So...

1) Bad set like said above.
2) Not popped. Battery/Protection tripping on the device due to over-amp draw
3) At least 1 coil must have been totally dry and just got zonked as you vaped.

Now... please keep in mind I'm not a DC expert. But the math doesn't make sense to me. So this is as much a question (statement of thought process ATM) as anything. I'm curious to see if you have a multimeter and what it reads.

1) the DC's hold 1.5 mls. I havn't measured, but I don't 30 drops comes close Use a syringe to fill them the first time. You might be burning them up.

2) Dekang cappuccino is a carto killer in and of itself. That is what my wife vapes and she rarely can get 2 days on a carto.

1) 30 drops is very close to 1.5mls. 20 drops = 1ml

2) I use a bunch of Dekang and don't have issues. What device are you using?

I Stand corrected on the measurement

My wife (who uses cappuccino, and blows through cartos) uses 1000 mAh egos. I use my Buzz Pros (that I love, thank you again for the reccomendation.)

Don't wait for the first hint they maybe getting dry keep it wet . After filling blow excess juice out through the battery end into the juice bottle or a paper towel after leaving it to soak in for about 15 minutes . Gurgling is usually juice in the air tube . Also take it off of the battery to fill .
