Why are my mesh wicks so bad?

None of my mesh / 30awg kanthal can make a good wick.

i'm doing everything everyone says to do, and it either :

1) doesnt heat all the coils
2)does an intense bright orange flare and kills 2 batteries...
3) it doesn't heat it up enough to make a half decent amount of vapor

what the hell is going on x_x

last night i had a head with some decent condition previous wicking material from original heads that i wrapped myself, and it was hitting good til i dropped it...
now all these mesh heads i made destroy stuff..blah. help?

kill your stuff? need more info, what kinda battery are we talking about when you say dying, what device are you trying to make a coil for etc etc.

about 4 or 5 posts under this on is a post called random hot spots check that oe as it talks alot about what your going through (minus the dead batteries)

it kills them out of charge completely.

30 awg wire is too thick for those batteries.

Mesh in VVN? NOOOO!!! Don't do it!!!

Too easy to get a short, make sure to check ohms first. SS wick don't work well in VVN, do a cotton/SS hybrid wick instead.

i agree, if you poke around you can find a few threads where people have done the mesh in the nova but they all say it was a pain, just like what your going through.

i dont have any advice for this as i dont use them so just look around at some of the nova tutorials.

hm alright, looks like ill get a genesis tank for the mesh, and stick to silica / cotton for the nova. thanks guys, saved me some stress

I have an idea I'm going to try this weekend. I'm going to feed the wire through silica. Then I will wrap that around the mesh.
