I don't know where to post this. So, since I'm active here, this is where I'm posting :)

<Start Rant>

Every negative ecig story I've read or listened to seems to always include something about eliquid flavors being marketed towards children. However, there are so many alcohol flavors being marketed and advertised. Why is there such a double standard?

I just went to an alcohol website. In the Hard Cider & Malt Beverage section one can find the following flavors (small sampling):
Lime-A-Rita, Lime Straw-Ber-Rita, Hard Lemonade, Hard Black Cherry, Pear, Mango Punch, Cranberry Lemonade, Jamaican Me Happy, Twisted Tea, Strawberry Lemonade, B. Nektar Zombie Killer, Blueberry Lemonade, Tropical Fruit, Pineapple, Black Jack Cola, Watermelon Punch, Cranberry Lime, Paradise Punch, Raspberry Lemonade, Watermelon Splash, Kiwi Strawberry

In the Beer section one can find such wonderful classics such as:
Banana Bread Beer, Cherry Wheat, Blueberry Lager, Purple Haze, Raspberry Wheat, Apple Ale, Tangerine Wheat, Apricot Ale, Vanilla Pale Ale, Organic Raspberry, Grapefruit, Strawberry Beer

I'm not getting into the Vodka or Wine sections and I'll certainly not bring up the ever popular Hello Kitty Sparkling Wine (and a hello Kitty Beer just hit the market in Asia).

According to the CDC,
People aged 12 to 20 years drink 11% of all alcohol consumed in the United States!!!!39% of High School students drank some amount of alcohol, 22% binge drank, 8% drove after drinking alcohol and 24% rode with a driver who had been drinking alcohol.

So, tell me, who are all those flavors marketed towards? Why all the alcohol advertising all over the place? Why allow the use of cartoons and bright colors to advertise alcohol? Where's the letter from the State AGs to the FDA concerning this? Why the double standard?

<End Rant>

Good rant! I guess it's safe to say the ANTZ who rail against flavored e-liquid enticing children are either blind, or stupid. Or they think the public is blind, or stupid. Or they won't say anything against flavored liquor because it's their drink of choice....
Come on AA! Dont you know the ANTZ are way to busy to take on another campaign! Believe me they will need alcohol after we get done with them:evil:

Why is GlaxoSmithKline marketing Nicorette toward youth? I'm sure the kids love the miniature band performing "I just want to celebrate." They chew the gum or suck the lozenges and then get addicted to nicotine, after which they become regular smokers. Uh-huh. Right.

And after all, a kid is much more likely to pick up and use Mom or Dad's e-cigarette than he is to pop one of their lozenges showing the pretty pictures of Cherries on the front.

Nicorette Fruit Chill Gum TV Commercial, 'Traffic' - iSpot.tv

Nicorette White Ice Mint®, Cinnamon SurgeTM, Fruit ChillTM, FreshMintTM, and Mint are sweetened with Xylitol, a natural sweetener produced commercially from plants. Nicorette White Ice Mint®, Cinnamon Surge, Fruit Chill, FreshMint and Mint also contain acesulfame potassium as a sweetener.

I have it on good authority* that this is a picture from the home bar of an ANTZ**:

*I made that up.

**Rumor has it they're stockpiling flavored liquor in case someone finally sees the hypocrisy of their "save the chiiiiiildren" argument and actually does go after flavored liquor to "save the chiiiiildren."

:going for a relaxing peach-flavored vape:
