I know most of you are familiar with the fact that batteries fall into different category of waste. All kinds of batteries are considered hazardous waste which means their pollution potential is extremely high. Most of you are vaping and I would like to make sure you know the devastating potential of the batteries of your e-cigarettes. There are several reasons why you should not dispose of your e-waste irresponsibly:
1. It produces toxins like nickel, lithium and mercury - all of these soak into the soil and enter into the ground water that we drink. This can be deadly or at least very harmful to all who make contact with this water.
2. Hazards, produced by the batteries, can cause blindness or may emit deadly substances in the atmosphere which when inhaled may turn out to be fatal for a little kid or small animal. In order to harm a person these emissions have to be produced from a e-waste landfill which are seen in China and the population living nearby suffers from various disease.
3. Inappropriately disposed rubbish may be consumed by a small kid which is not familiar with the material. There are several fatal cases of children who have been operated or died in the surgery because of eating batteries they found at their home (keep yours away - best to bulk them in specially design bag )

How to dispose of your battery ?

I usually chose the easiest solution to hire a rubbish removal company for all the waste at my home I have generated for the last months and when they take it I give them the batteries too. As I'm living in London I choose [removed] but you can pick any other that is nearby you.

Another way to do it is to go to electronics store and trash it in the e-waste bin that is usually placed somewhere nearby the entrance of the shops.
Hope I was helpful
Best wishes,
Greg

No. Absolutely not. Lithium Ion batteries should NEVER be stored like that. Doesn't matter if they're destined for the rubbish pile or not. Unless that "specially designed" bag is also flame proof, bulking the batteries we use together like that is a recipe for the next big headline on the 6 o'clock news.
