Why do some people prefer the box type battery over the stick type. Most people seem to stick roughly to the same voltage. Is it just a style preference or are the boxes better ?
They don't roll whichever way you place it on the table.
With a heavy atty on a tube mod, I have to be careful not to accidentally brush against the mod, causing it to topple over.
Ever since I got my first box mod the iPV2 I've been in love with boxes. Like other people said they stand up which ever way you place them on a table. Don't have to worry about them rolling away or getting knocked over like my mech mod. Plus some of them have high wattages for people that like to rebuild. I think they look really clean and slick.

Maybe I just haven't tried the right tubular mod but boxes just feel better in my hand and they ride really well in my back pocket when I'm walking around. Although, my new Sigelei 100W, with dual 18650s is definitely about as big as I'm going to be comfortable with. Not quite sure how you'd get a similar mod in a tubular shape without it feeling like you were vaping on a section of a baseball bat. Lol! Boxes are where it's at!
-Boxes can be shorter by putting the board next to the battery instead of in-line.
-They fill the hand more.
-They stand better since they have a larger base and that can make them useful as a rebuilding base.
-It sets e-cigs apart from flashlights.
That's all I got... tubes can look even slicker IMO (intentional pun), but a different look is not necessarily a bad thing.

Box mods can be put down and don't fall over or roll away. They fit better in pockets. It is hard to get two batteries in a parallel circuit in a tube (stick) mod. Some people simply prefer the look and feel of one over the other.
I carried a box of stinkies in my pants pocket for a coupla decades, unfortunately. Now, I have the same form factor in the same pocket. My REO has just about the same dimensions as a pack of smokes, give or take, here or there.
The other reason, for me, is that a box doesn't look like a, ahem, "personal massager", if ya know what I mean.
There are many kinds of box mods. - I have owned a few.
One of the things I liked about some of the plastic box mods I used to have was the horn switches that were popular on them. They had a very nice tactile feel and gave distinct positive feedback in use.
Another box mod I had was a Tekk mod. At that time, it was among the coolest 5.0v devices you could get. There were a couple of perhaps equally cool 5.0v tube mods, but I couldn't also charge my cell phone from any of those.
Currently, I use 3 REOs. That's not going to change any time soon unless it becomes 4 REOs. - I have owned a couple of other quality feeders and a whole bunch of different plastic box feeders.... It's a long list. The appeal of the box form factor in the case of feeders is that feeding is 99% exclusive to the box form factor. I can't say 100% because there is the Surge Tank and also the Vape Mate... but basically, Feeders are Box Mods. It is very unlikely I would ever consider changing back to tube mods because that would mean not using feeders. Feeders are the #1 hassle reducing devices I am aware of... and that is incredibly important to me.
