OK so the question may be obvious, but I certainly don't understand why it can't be done??
I hear over and over again to buy manual batteries if you are planning to refill so any overfill or juice leaks won't kill the battery..... but why can't AUTO batteries be sealed, too?

These kind of improvements are probably already in the works....but the evolution from vertical coil to horizontal coil to spiral coil seems to be really obvious....they are just being changed at a very slow pace.

It all comes down to simple engineering...something has to trigger the battery to allow power to the atomizer. As for using Auto Batteries and juice I have never shorted a battery, let alone shorted a battery due to leaking juice.

Does it happen? You bet, but the possibility of it happening diminishes greatly by the use of proper refilling techniques. I also believe that the e-cig industry is extremely fluid and that a lot of hardware we use today will soon seem antiquated in the very near future.

Cool. so all they have to do is design airflow tubes that reach down to the bottom of the connector and then they can be sealed??

Phistraveler sir it's because the switch as of right now has to be placed at the bottom of the connector. So to activate it you need airflow, which is impossible unless the batt is unsealed.
