I have been vaping for almost 3 months now and still CRAVE analogs. I have been able to get down to about 3 a day but quit analogs. I've even got a SID and rda, cloud chasing and what-not. What can I do to kick the "stinkies"? Would kicking up the nic level help? I'm vaping 6mg with a 1.2ohm coil at like 12w. I'm ok when at the house, but on my breaks at work I still find myself bumming analogs. HOW DO I QUIT?!?!?

Everyone moves at their own pace. Instaed of beating yourself up over the smokes you are bumming, think about all the smokes you are NOT having. Congratulate yourself for doing away with however many you have eliminated from your daily routine. Maybe tell the folks you are around on those smoke breaks to cut you off, no more bums. Maybe quit going to that smoking area on your breaks, head for the restroom or somewhere and vape it up.

You may want to look into WTA Juices. It stands for Whole Tobacco Alkaloids and has helped quite a few people get rid of the craving when nothing else worked. There is more detailed information on the subject in the Aroma Forum and on their website.

What BigCatDaddy said, and if I may add to that; just stop smoking. I am more of a veteran of vaping than I am to ECF, but there are lots of posts like yours. I see them every day. I am sympathetic, as I am sure we all are, but it really comes down to you to quit smoking; vaping is only there to assist you in quitting.

So I stand by my advice to you. If you want to quit smoking, stop smoking cigarettes. You will crave them. You will be fidgety. It will drive you to distraction sometimes, but all of that will pass before you know it. It will not be easy. I can however, with the experience of being a former 3PAD smoker myself, assure you that your efforts will be worth it. Really. It will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself and your loved ones.

I wish you the best of luck, and welcome to ECF.

What strength do you smoke, cigarettes that is? If they are full flavor you need at least an 18mg juice, or I did. You'll have to leave those cigs behind and vape through the cravings. The 6mg you're vaping is too low for what you need at this time. I quit having cravings at 6 months. They did become less frequent during those first 6 months but they quit by the end of the 6th. If 18mg doesn't cut it try a lil' higher until you find a mg that works for you. Granted you have greatly reduced what you once smoked and that's fantastic but if you want to be rid of them you'll have to do a lil' work. It's so worth it. I agree in finding a good juice. Good luck to you and keep us informed on how you're doing!

I say get some stronger juice then vape through those few cravings a day. I was in the same boat buy once I got off analogs for a few days strait I tried one amd omg it was disgusting. First time in my life smoking an analog tasted like I was sucking on an ashtray. I think if you do this you may be past it. Good luck and give it time it took me getting the right vape gear and juice and then still a few solid months.

We started vaping at Christmas and had no intention of quitting, we figured if we could just cut down it would be good. Well as time went on we not only cut down but one day I just didn't smoke any analogs, and haven't had one since. My wife did the same thing about two weeks later. From the sounds of it you are similar to me, it's not just the nicotine but the act of smoking it that has you. Do you vape at work? you might try it on your breaks with the smoking crowd you normally smoke with.

I've been vaping only a little longer and have a similar issue.

I'll second the WTA. You need to read about whole tobacco alkaloid juice and the role the minor tobacco alkaloids play, and the sense of satisfaction that chemicals like anatabine produces. All the high-tech equipment and clouds won't make up for the fact some peoples physiology will miss those chemicals when they switch to nicotine.

I've given up vaping regular e-juice, for the most part. I also find I'm chain-vaping less and getting less nic-sick with WTA. I've sort of been fooling around with regular e-juice off and on for weeks but it really hasn't hooked me enough to get me to stop smoking analogs altogether. Maybe because I've gotten so frustrating vaping.

There is a whole psychological dimension to smoking too, that can make it hard to give up. But I think that's mostly down to having unsatisfactory experiences vaping. If vaping were satisfying enough, you and I would be quitting analogs altogether.

An easily available source for minor tobacco alkaloids is smokeless tobacco- if you really want to quit and can deal with losing the smoking aspect, you might find them a good alternative when you are wanting to bum cigarettes off co-workers. Camel Snus is available in most gas stations.

I'll tell you what got me quit...
1. telling myself I was cutting back not quitting. Because I'm the type that if I tell myself I'm not going to smoke, I'll be on the porch chain huffing within 10 secs. I intended to both vape and smoked when I started (I truly didn't believe that vaping was going to work either, nothing else did)

2. Once I started vaping, I vaped 30 mg nic. That's right. 30. I vaped til I felt nic poisoning beginning... MASSIVE headache. Then I told myself I wasn't going to have a cig, and went out back to have a cig... and OMG... GROSS!!! I had enough nic in my system that cigs tasted sooo bad. I started clipping my cig at 1/2... then at 2 drags, then 1 drag... that lasted a while.... the 1 drag and clip.

I say it took me a week, but I was still running out there and taking 1 hit now and then just to see if I was really off it, for about 2 weeks.

When I wanted a smoke, I'd FIRST vape the 30 mg nic til I started feeling a bit sick, then went out for my cig anyway. That conditioned me within 4 days that cigs are GROSS. OMG GROSS. I never told myself I couldn't smoke... but after doing that, I COULDN"T smoke much.

When I got to a point where I believed I could actually stop... I vaped til I had the mother of all headaches and had to go lay down for the 4 hours it took til the nic left my system. Then, did it again when I wanted to smoke.

After that, I was quit. I read that it takes 3 weeks to break a habit... I'd still run out on the porch every 15 minutes or so... and stand around sort of bewildered... LOL! But after 3 weeks, I even stopped needing to run out to the porch.

If you are breaking a decades long habit that was almost impossible to stop, you have to devise a plan that works for you. That's what worked for me. Hopefully you won't have to vape to headache point... but you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm pretty sure you can't OD from VAPING nic, you'll pass out first... I only know that because I did pass out... and frankly, I was prepared to die if it didn't work, that's how bad I wanted to quit, once I realized that it was possible with vaping. Course, I didn't die:).

*Edit to say this was a bit exaggerated, I KNEW I wasn't going to die. If you read about nic poisoning, unless you have heart problems, in which case this may not be the best thing to do, the way nicotine kills is it will give you massive headache, nausea, then unconsciousness. It keeps acting, which is why it can kill from ingestion or skin. But once you pass out, you can't vape anymore, so it starts leaving your system. I am NOT recommending you vape til you pass out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am only relating my own experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6mg is nothing. It's about equivalent to ultra lights. Most people start at 18mg or even 24mg.

Vaping at 12 watts would be delivering a lot more nicotine, even at 6mg, than vaping the same at a lower wattage. The 6mg = ultralight advice is for 3.7v 510 cig-a-likes.

I've vaped myself to the point of getting mild nicotine OD, and still wanted a cigarette, so I don't think that is the answer. There really are other chemicals in tobacco and cigarettes besides nicotine that contribute to satisfaction smokers get.

I think the answer is in the juice, finding one you actually like better than smoking cigarettes.

Hey Burlington, welcome and congrats. With your gear and watts vaped at, I'd recommend at least 12 mg nic. That's what I vape but at 30-50 watts. Smoked camel filters.

Typical recommendations for e-liquid nicotine concentration for novice vapers:

1/2 pack per day = 6 mg nic
1 pack per day = 12 mg
1 1/2 pack per day = 18 mg
2 pack per day = 24 mg

I was a heavy inhaler of Marlboro Lights, only 1 pack per day. I started with 24 mg (I didn't know better at the time) which was harsher than it needed to be. I still got cravings for cigs my first week.

I allowed myself half of a cig three or four times a day, and saved the other half for later. That second half of a used cigarette started tasting pretty nasty and actually helped me to quit because of that. I grew to actually prefer my vape over the smokes. Toward the end of the week when my last pack was gone, I had developed a distaste for the cigarettes.

I've been smoke free 2 years this month after that last pack. I've cut down from 24mg to 12mg, and am about to drop down to 6mg. Finding the right vape gear and right e-liquid for YOU is the most important thing besides DETERMINATION on your part to put away the smokes for good.

Gear-wise, a Provari coupled with a great topper (Kayfun RBA or cartotank) and flavors that I genuinely like is what works for me. I don't want a cigarette and hate the smell/taste of them.
