I enjoy the vaping thing immensely, but still have about 4 - 5 analogs per day. What is my problem? I use a 510 with 24 juice. I just seem to "miss" or, for curiosities sake, need to taste an analog on occasion. I smoked about 2 packs of Camel wides per day and started vaping about a week ago...

Usually, after an analog I ask myself, why did you do that, didn't it taste awefull...

Need some help here, as I'm already feeling better, but want to say goodbye to the analogs...

Give yourself a break.
How many are you NOT smoking now? Lots right? Youve come a long way already.
Some things, like years old addictions, don't always disappear overnight. If they do, great!
If they don't, its fine!
You need to be kinder to yourself, and take things at your own pace. Your mind isn't ready to quit cigs, it associates them with something still, and that something is pleasurable. You may have to face that you will never give up totally - and that will help you give up eventually. I know it sounds backwards, but it works. Never ban cigs from your life, just take it a day at a time.
It took me 10 days to finally decide I prefrred my PV more. At no time did I berate myself if I smoked, I like smoking, why should I stop? I had no intention of quitting anyway, just cutting down
After 10 days my brain obviously decided this habit was better than the old one and giving up was no struggle.
Take your time and be kind to yourself
And well done for all the cigs you AREN'T smoking! :thumb:

I found it hard at first also. My doc told me that it's not just the nicotine in cigarettes which is addictive. There are lots of other chemical that your body will crave even though you are getting the most important one when vaping...

This should pass after a couple of days.

Good luck!!!

I had my last cigarette on Jan 5th and with every day that passes I feel that little bit better...

Do what Captjay said. Don't count the ones you smoke, count the ones you are now not smoking.
I got pretty disappointed with myself. I was on 50+ a day RYO's and still can't kick the old habit. I was beating myself up over it, then the members on here made me realize, it's not what you smoke now, but how many you use to smoke that matters. Thanks to vaping, I am now only smoking 10-15 per day, sometimes a lot less, and that's a big achievement for me after 50 years of tobacco abuse. So I'm heading in the direction and maybe one-day, i will find myself kicking the habit completely.

Just keep trying! It's all you can do. I had to quit buying them to get rid of the one in the morning. It was hard at first but the withdrawals are getting farther and farther apart. I also went from 24mg up to 30mg and that seems to be my spot for the moment. Once the withdrawals die down a little more I'm going to try to go back to 24 and then down from there. I will say that I used to sit in class and stare at the clock (learned a lot that way btw) and wait for break so I could smoke and would be jonesing by the end of class. Now it doesn't bother me anymore.. the PV just doesn't seem as addictive to me as the cigs were.

I agree with everyone else though... no pressure on yourself is important!

I think the answer is that you're simply not ready just yet. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! 4 or 5 cigs a day is nothing compared to how many you were having before. Don't forget also, you are probably addicted to some of the other substances present in tobacco, not just the nicotine.
I think you're doing an amazing job, so just hang tight and go slow. You may surprise yourself.

For whatever its worth, I've been a pack a day smoker for the last 13 years. I started vaping 3 days ago, Ive smoked about a half a pack of analogs in that time. The hardest part of this has been avoiding smoking the analog that im used to smoking just upon waking every day for the past ~decade-ish.

Aside from that, the only other downside im seeing atm, is the crap coming out of my lungs (though i suppose that really is more of a positive than a negative) and that will stop once my lungs rebound from the years of abuse.

Vaping is rocking for me, already im noticing slight differences in my taste, smells, Ive washed every article of clothing i own and none of it will ever smell like smoke again! Short of a complete US ban on this product and supplies becoming unavailable, I'll likely be vaping in place of analogs for quite some time...

Someone once told me that a cigarette takes ~7mins off of your lifespan, Seeing as you were smoking 2 packs of camels per day, that's 280mins every 24hrs(math?) that you were subtracting from your lifespan. So even if you got it down to 4-5 a day, or even a single wake and bake analog daily like myself, that's a drastic improvement on the length and potentially the quality of our lives.

Keep up the good work, stay positive and try to remember its about quality and quantity of life thats important not # of analog's that could've/should've avoided.

/end my 2c

Hey budster, you are doing great! You are smoking about 12% of what you did before you started using your ecig, and that's fantastic! You should be celebrating.

I found it took me a while to completely give up my analogs when I started vaping. One of the things that I think helped was drinking more water. Any time I felt like I wanted an analog, I drank a glass of water. Sometimes my craving passed.

Budster, it's taken me two months to go from smoke to vape. Woke up from a nap today, first day of no smokes, and was ready to rip the paint from the walls. Took a couple of puffs (we would have called them tokes in the old days) of the e-cig at 24 mg. and am almost human again. Yeah, hey, 100% human.

Take it at your own rate. I had to do it to keep from being evicted from my home. This is not a contest. You don't have to prove anything to anyone except yourself.

Well I had the same problem. But it turned out I needed a diff. unit. Tried 901,still hit the cigs. Then I got a M401 and boom, that was what I needed. It had the vapor,TH,and flavor. But most of all it "felt" like a cig. The hardish pull, and the size. (with 403 batt) Havent had a cig since. But to reiterate, your doing GREAT !! Dont give up ! Vape on and live long !!

Also helpful for me was when i REALLY wanted a smoke i'd vape high mg liquid. really helped me. you can do it!

For sure, Ive been vaping 36mg "Fresh Apple" pretty heavy, first day it gave me a pretty nice head rush, second day and today it just takes my mind off of even needing or wanting a cig. Im not getting the "drunk/buzzed" feeling off it anymore, but it is pretty satisfying.

Ive been trying to switch up the 36mg with a 24mg "Marlboro" that came with my kit, but the thing of it is, one of the main reasons im getting off cigs is the taste, the smell etc. So i dont really dig the marlboro, and im thinking its the taste and not so much the lower mg. Cant be for certain on this, could all be in my head. What flavor/mg of juice are you using? maybe try something completely on the other end of the taste spectrum and see if that would help?

i agree with everything said. But habits are just as strong as addictions. Its supposed to burn and disappear and your supposed to ash it and its supposed to taste bad. Finish your pakc and try to fight it. Chain vaping is better than smoking but then again 5 is better than 40. Fight it down eventually you will crave a nice vape

Advice is cheap. But since this is the place to dish it out; I'll toss you mine.

Everything said is correct, logically, but it HAS to work for you and you alone. The habit was the worst part for me, yet I love the taste of good tobacco. Still smoke a nice cigar or pipe on occasion, maybe once or twice a week. Tobacco tastes great to me, but not cigarettes. They were where the habit part began. A way for me to get the pseudo-thrill of smoking without all the time, taste, and experience that introduced me into the love of a good, honest smoke. Cigarettes ruined that and replaced it with a cool-factor and a quick-fix for a need I thought I had to address. It became a totally different animal.

Try some reverse psychology the next time you feel the need for the cigarette, since they are the things that are killing you: Take a breath (important. The more you consciously breathe the more you'll notice how well you're breathing), and instead of telling yourself you shouldn't smoke it (because you know you'll want it more if you say this), tell yourself you shouldn't vape either...

And at the rate in which you've cut down...there was no falling off the wagon for you my friend:) No need to be discouraged!
