Why De-wick?

I'm quite noobish.. i understand why to de-bridge.. but why de-wick? does it provide a boost?
i figured the wick in the heater was there to absorb extra drips....

I think the people that pull the wicks out do so because of the taste of the wick . But if you ask me it hurts the performance of the atomizer. Also most atomizers new taste pretty damn nasty, but i can get that taste out with a nice long alcohol soak. each to there own i guess , i tried didn't like wont do it again.

Usually we only dewick what is directly under the mesh bride and leave the wick going through the coil alone. Its for the same reason you said and when you remove the coil wick. The atty is useless imo. So just dewick the part under the bridge and you'll be happy you did

I remove the mesh and the bridge so that I can drip directly onto the heating element. Makes bigger vaper and it's tastier. Although, if you over drip, it will get messy quick. I had to learn on a 510 to only put 2-3 drops on it at a time.

Edit: I quit doing this for my mods. I went to a Cisco LR306 on my Icon. If you have a 510, eGo, Riva, or a mod that accepts 510 threading, I would suggest getting one of these and a drip trip. You'll be surprised at the difference.

The wick threads kept burning. Burning wick tastes nasty and it's not the most pleasant thing to know you're inhaling.

Thanks... I do have a cisco LR. Its a little hot for me, working on a longer neck...

I do have a disposable that tastes right nasty, I may de wick that one... Thx!
