I use mini Protanks because they don't seem to suffer as bad as Evods.

If I "need" to use an Evod, I put extra silica wick in the atomizer head; problem gone.

The issue with BCC is that the amount of wicking material to get a good, clean vape is dependent on the thickness of the juice. I mostly use 80/20 liquid, so need more wick. People using 50/50 of more VG actually remove wicks.

It's an imperfect system.

I have several Evod clearomizers and overall I like them a lot. A couple of them seem to be prone to leaking in the way that you said. It seems to happen when the juice level gets lower, not all the way, but about halfway down. In that case, I refill them. Also, I find that if I really tighten the head assembly well before I put it on my battery, that helps.

I think the problem really lies more with the head/coil assembly than the tanks. When you think about it, the heads cost a little more than $1 each and are mass produced. They probably don't have the best quality control sometimes. If all else fails with mine, I replace the head with a new one, and that usually works.

Check to make sure your coil is tightened as they sometimes will spin loose when you take them out. If you are getting juice at the tip, you might be overfilling and have juice in the air tube. If so, take a paper towel or napkin and blow thru the drip tip into the towel to remove excess. As bug mentioned, you might just have gotten a few wonky replacement coils.

I love the Evods - but they are not the easiest to refill. I have found that if you have a light colored paper towel underneath the Evod as you refill it - the color of the towel will contrast the shadows and reflections down the air tunnel/tube.... This way you can be 100% sure you did not get any liquid inside the air tube.

Look for any drops and clean them before putting the coil back in - or if you clean out the tube after the coil is installed, keep those drops from running back inside the coil post by not allowing gravity to take it the way you don't want the drops to go. You can blow thru where the battery is going to connect - but, a wipe with a towel or Q-tip will work better IMHO-- and then you should be good to go -- If you do not get the ejuice drops out or e-juice wetness out of the airtube- condensation or moisture from the vapor will attach to those drops if you just leave them there and make the drops bigger as you use the EVOD.

sorry I am long winded... I jut like and use the EVODs alot.

HELP PLEASE WITH EVOD..... MY zmax and the evod keep not making contact... i dont know what the heck is going on.. i keep pulling out the middle pin on the evod and it will make contact for about 5 puffs then it will stop... this is sooo fustrating..:(

Nobody helped a damsel in distress? Chivalry is dead I guess.... I will give it a try...

From what I have read - if you over tighten a clearo onto a battery or mod - it is possible the pin on the battery or mod can get pressed inwards. Not saying you did this - just saying that this can happen. I think saw this fixed on Youtube with an MVP, the guy used a small flathead screwdriver and worked his way around the pin on the battery/mod, pulling it ever so slowly and gently outwards -- don't remember who the poster was. But - I would suggest the following troubleshooting tips before you start that process:

1) Do other clearos work on the Zmax without issue? Is the depth of the pin on the working ZMAX clearos less than the EVOD? Might be the EVOD then... If not, then maybe the connection pin/rod on the zmax has been pushed in too far.

2) Does the EVOD work on an ego or other battery without issue? if yes - might be an incompatibility issue with the Zmax and the EVOD - I dont have a Zmax -- so, I cant say for sure, or that it worked fine for me or anything - you might find a better answer asking someone who owns the same Zmax as you. If the EVOD doesn't work on anything - then it's the EVOD - maybe a bum coil? or poorly made coil - I think it was Rip Trippers, talked about how like 2 out of 10 Kangertech coils were bunk - and it ticked him off :) -- but then again, it could of been someone else - I watch a lot of Youtube!

3) Are all the connections clean of any juice spills? I had an ego charging once, and it gave me a fast flickering red-green, when it should of been fully charged and a solid green. Upon inspection - I found that the threads of the charger somehow got a little juice gunk on it. _ I unplugged the USB, cleaned up the threads on the charger with a alcohol swab - let it dry and it was a solid green again when I used the charger again. If the Zmax has some kinda ATTY checker program in it - maybe its going into protection mode? am just guessing here - I am no expert. But try wiping the threads of the Zmax with a alcohol Q-tip and see if they are clean?

lastly- Having rebuilt a few of the kangertech coils on the EVOD/PROTANK 2 -- I can tell ya, the only thing holding that pin in place is the pressure from the insulator and a little friction from the coil wire. -- if you pull that pin too much on the EVOD -- it's like uncorking a bottle -- so be careful. :)

Hope something I said helped -- if not, at least I tried to be a valiant hero?!?!? :)

lol ur funny.. but the evod will work like 60% of the time then get 9.9 connector errors .. i have pulled out the evod pin.. and i have to keep pulling it out everytime i get the error.. then i tried the protank3 and honestly the thing sucks.. even on my husbands vamo.. neways not the point.. it would get 9.9 error then read 2.6 then 2.1...then 4.6...then 9.9.... then 2.1.... ?? on my husbands vamo it reads 2.3 no issues.. just sucks.. j/s
