Why did you start vaping and what did you use?

Hey all,

I'm trying to fill up my posting quota so I can get some answers to some problems I'm having, so I figured I might as well get a feel for how other people got into vaping and what their first setups were. Mine was a starter kit from V2... I still have some of those tiny batteries!

My biggest question, if you have the time to take a look, can be found in this post on the New Members Forum here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...apesafe2-causing-problems-lavatube-2-5-a.html.

Thanks!

Started with a Kanger EVOD starter kit and shared it with my wife to quit smoking. We both have quit smoking and she has pretty much quit vaping (quiting all nicotine was her goal. I find I like vaping so I have collected more than a few spare tanks and stuff to go with my Ego style batteries.

Just glad to finally have quit the analogs after 30 years!

I started vaping to quit smoking. A friend turned me onto to the idea of it, but I was skeptical. Did some research for a few weeks, including here on ECF as a lurker.

My friend took me to Vapor Leaf in Denver and I got a couple of eGo-t upgraded batteries and a couple of Kanger MT3S clearos with some menthol and a USTobacco mix. It worked and my last cigarette was the following day. My gear has not changed much, other than I have added Vision Spinner batteries, but still use the MT3S clearos. What I have really changed is my juice. I still use a menthol mix for my ADV, but thanks to some folks here suggesting I be open to non-tobacco, non-menthol flavors, I have about 7 juices that are either fruit flavored (vaping Raspberry as I type) or caramel cappuccino or chocolate chip mint ice cream. I am glad I was encouraged by folks here to expand my vaping horizons. And of course, I have backups and backups for my backups and backups for the backups to my backups and...well you get the idea. I have enough clearos, coils etc to last almost a year. Stocking up on various juices in the next couple of weeks.

Keep the vape and namaste.

Like most, I was tired of the expense first off, and also of course the health concerns with analogs. I have noticed a huge improvement in my breathing, and just over all feeling when I get up in the morning. Seems I can taste and smell things better too.

I started, to quit :). Worked. I went with a VTR and Protank 2, for my first purchase. I am in the trades so for me, the stick style mods and such weren't gonna make it a week much less a day without snapping in half @ the 510. And I wanted a good base to learn how to rebuild coils so I figured a Pro2 looked the part. It's got one coil and I can buy more heads when I f it up. I read a lot of posts here and at FC.com before putting down the cigs and picking up the vape. I love the vape. LOVE. :vapor:

Wanted to quit as my New Years resolution, bit the bullet early and got a kit Nov 19th! Ego twist with 2 CE4 stardusts from vixen vapors!
From there I got an evod and then January 23 got me a ProVari and a carto tank (Bella tank) then today got myself an Aspire Nautilus.

Next is rebuildables. But first going to try rebuilding a head on the nautilus once one goes out following Rip Trippers vid

I started vaping primarily to improve my family's health, since the smell of smoke on me was making my wife and daughter ill. Also wanted to cut costs on my 3 pack a day habit.

My first kit was the Alpha starter kit at SmartSmoke. It's an over-priced 808D-2 model, but it got me started on this journey.

I started the day the dr told me i had cancer. Started with a kanger kit, which i since gave away to friends who smoked. Now i have a vamo kfl+ a cheap seigili and a jm mod with a patriot and nemisis. You know I found the best place to ask those difficult questions right here in the new members forum. Just cause it says new members doesnt mean there arent any vets in here.

I started out using the V2 starter kit as well. It worked for the first 3 months but the more I read and saw that 510 and eGo threads were more universal than the 808's I decided to upgrade to the eGo's 1000mAh, then on to the Joyetech eGo C Pass-Through, Vision Spinners 1300mAh, iTaste 3vv, MVP 2, VTR, Vamo 2, and on my 1yr anniversary a Provari. I'm quite happy with what I have and use them all in my daily rotation of flavors.

I got a Ego 650 starter kit from my father in law for Christmas. I finished my last analogs and gave it a shot. I think analogs taste horrible now and smell even worse. Thank you ECF members for sharing your experiences so I can learn more as I explore more. I am now a little over a month without a puff of an analog. I have been playing racquetball and hiking around without huffing and puffing here in the Mile Hi city.
