For me it was personal health. I just moved recently across province after leaving an abusive marriage of 18 years. I moved to start over and change my life and smoking was the last part of my former life I needed to give up. It was the best friend I loved, helped me through many times, but, sometimes you need to say goodbye when your friends are toxic.

While smoking i felt like an outcast, vaping i feel like one of the cool kids

I was getting sick every time I smoked. Also, I quit cold turkey about 15 times in the past 3 years. I realized I needed some help.

I had tried one of those tiny e-cigs back in 2009, but I burned it out chain vaping. Then, last year, a non-smoking friend of mine was vaping 0-nic because he liked the flavor. That reminded me of the e-cig and off I went.

Still using my MVP2, but with better toppers.

Had to reset my banner (below), 'cause I drank too much during the holidays. And drinking lead me to smoking without realizing it! :(

But I'm back on the wagon now. All is well.

Great to hear so many folks recently quit smoking. Count me in too. I was at a convention, a couple of my friends were using PV's and I was puffing on a marlboro...looking at the contraptons they were using I had to ask what the heck are those things....I actually never seen one before nor even heard about them.

Anyway, my buddy said he would fix me up, he did, I got a spinner II in the mail with a stock aspire atty plus some tobacco flavored 24mg juices...I loved the taste of the juice, I was shocked actually. Now I have about 40 different flavors.....but 8-12 mg nic.

Its only been a couple months, but I haven't had a smoke since I took the first pull off the spinner.

Saved a fortune not spending 7-8 bucks a day on coffin nails ....now I spend about 100 bucks a week buying this or that...:D

Have an entire book shelf in my office full of atty's, mods, wire, juice, etc, etc....but I love it, not only is it satisfying, its fun building coils and trying different combinations of the various mods and atty's available. Kind of turned into a little habit, a much healthier habit.....:)

Can only pray more people can stop smoking, and find the world of vaping.

I do my best to show everyone I can how easy it is to stop smoking.

My grandparents, parents and oldest brother all died of smoking related diseases. Others pleaded with me to quit my 2 pack a day 33 year habit, and I wouldnt, or convinced myself I couldnt.

Over the past number of years, I've watched what my brother's widow's life is like without him. It pretty much sucks. i finally realized I didn't want to do something similar to my wife. I quit 3 weeks ago today and have no intention on starting again. Philip Morris can kiss my ....

I started with the blue ecigs, and I really loved them, until a co worker mentioned there are better ways, and showed me an itaste vv. I was intrigued, he let me try it and was blown away. It was amazing, He showed me the ropes and I was hooked. I smoked cigarettes prior but was never addicted, I just found vaping made my zest for life come back.

I started because I would go home and smoke cigars after a busy day at work, and started carrying little prime times in my pocket for occasions. I recognized that this was the start of me being dependent on them and it was only a matter of time before I bought a pack of something. I used to use a hookah very frequently, which the wife has always been okay with. I always wanted an e-cigarette because I loved playing with hookah clouds and such, but never could convince the wife to let me get one. I told her about the fantasia e-hookah (ego battery with a cheapy clearomizer) and she went for that. Little did she know it was actually an ecigarette. I stepped up to a ego twist, and after that, a provari 2.5. Didn't bother with alot of the cheap stuff early on, fortunately for me. Following that, I stepped up to a Reo grand, and have an assortment of stuff alongside it, most of which I dont use. I did get a P3, but need to find something good to put on top of it. Currently using the aerotank mega, sometimes the Silo.

I was actively trying to quit/cut down. Using lozenges, gun, abstinence. One day an e-cig ad popped up on my computer. I have no idea what brand...probably something I wouldn't want. Anyway, I began to research, ended up here on ECF, and the rest is history as they say. I never in a million years thought it would work...just hoped to cut down my cigarette usage. So I guess in some respect, e-cigs found me.

I smoked better than a pack a day for over 30 years. I wanted to quit and tried a cigalike, and thought it might work. It sort of did but I couldn't put down the stinkies. One night I played a local cigar club and they had the ego type setups. I got one with tip jar money and found it to be much better. In less than a month it will be a year since I last smoked a cigarette. I can't wait to February 12.

I was a social smoker for over a decade. Went through a pack about every 3-4 days. However I found myself burning more and more of them either during stressful times, or drinking with friends (both which seemed to be coming up more frequently lately). I work in a high rise office building and noticed several people puffing on e-cigarettes during smoke breaks. The main reason why I switched was to save money. It was followed closely by hating the smell of cigarettes, having to fiddle with a lighter (which I was ALWAYS losing...especially when hanging with friends) and ashes.

Once I got my own e-cigarette, I hadn't even been tempted to puff on an analog. Vaping is superior in almost every way (smell, cost, convenience, etc.)!

(If you want my full, long, drawn out story, feel free to read this piece on Medium that I wrote)

Used smokeless tobacco for many, many years, and quit about 7 years ago, cold turkey...haven't touched smokeless tobacco since then. However, I did have a few cigars with friends, although nothing to really be concerned with. A couple of years ago, two of my sons got me interested in a hookah, and I was immediately hooked. I'd spend a couple hours each day after work in the garage smoking that hookah, and finally decided enough was enough.

A co-worker had been vaping for a while and was always talking about it, so I asked if I could try it. The flavor was amazing (Heisenberg - Blue by Innevape) and so I decided to give it a go. I bought a little 650mAH eGo battery and a cheap Aspire BDC tank and it was off to the races...that was about a year ago.

I started vaping to quit chewing copenhagen. I was a can a day dipper and towards the end of the three and a half years of dipping, I decided that I hated how it made my mouth/teeth feel and look. It would tear up my gums (gator lip - dippers will understand this) and it turned my gums into a scary white color. I started with an ego 650 mah battery and a plastic kanger t2 tank, moved up to a vision spinner 2 VV battery with an aerotank mega, and now I drip on a few RDAs and a Segelei 100W. The dentists can't even tell that I used to dip because my mouth completely healed since i've been vaping for about a year and a half now.

I quit analogs in 1987 (yeah I'm an old fart) but would occasionally enjoy a stogie with my two sons, both of whom dipped and chewed. When drinking socially, I found myself taking a cig when offered, and before long, I bought a pack, and then another pack. Not good. I really enjoyed blowing the smoke, the oral fix, and the slight nicotine rush. Positive that I was about to started the damned habit again, I investigated e-cigs. Now, three months later, I'm happy as a lark, building my on RTA'S, RBA'S and just built my first dripper today. Both of my sons now vape, and have been tobacco free since Christmas!

I am finally at a time in my life where I am surrounded by support. I never wanted to quit smoking cigarettes (12 years with 5 quit-breaks for pregnancies), I just didn't care... I was in a bad place.

But I am in a brand-new place, safe and secure, full of love and encouragement. I actually want to quit now, so its been easy :)

It's also helpful that we are doing it together.

And I LOVE not smelling like cigarettes... gross.
