So I have some 1.8 ohm coils for my ProTank2, when I use them stock my sweet spot is between 3.4-3.8 volts on my ego twist. The weird thing is when I take out the silica and re-wick with cotton I have to crank the voltage up to 4.4-4.8 volts (maxed out) to find the sweet spot. Why is this??
1.8ohm coils are too low, at least go to 2.2ohm. I prefer the 2.8ohm, so I can crank it up without tasting a burnt flavor. I usually buy the 2.5 ohm just because there's only one place that stocks the 2.8ohm at a good price.

I would say 1.8 is too high... go down to like... 0.5-0.8

Wick is to thick and/or tight in the coil, should only have enough cotton in there when threading to where the friction wants to pull the coil the way you are pulling.
Another reason could be when you threaded the coil, you grounded out inside the cup, make sure the coil wires are equal distance from the walls of the cup, and the coil is centered over the air hole in the bottom
Another reason, you have to much wick resting on top of the coil if you installed a floating flavor wick to stop flooding.
