Why do some liquids leak?

I have been using the EVOD with ego battery and it worked great with the menthol liquid. I got some vanilla that I really love but for some reason every time I refill it it leaks. First few drags I get liquid in my mouth and a mess. Once I clean it up and take a few more drags it is fine but I am losing a lot of liquid and don't understand this. By the time it works properly it is already half empty.

Would appreciate any help. Why do I have trouble with the vanilla but not the menthol?

What are the pg/vg ratios of the two juices? Maybe the vanilla is higher in pg while the menthol is a thicker vg juice?

I had some trouble with leaking in the beginning and then someone told me to quit storing my filled tank on my battery and just cycle thru several filled tanks and I have not had any trouble since.

Using Halo tanks and make sure not to use citrus or any really strong flavors in them.

The PG/VG ratio like the previous poster suggested may have something to do with it, I just don't know.

Hope you find a solution, I know it is frustrating.

what cloud nine said, sounds like the vanilla is a much thinner juice (higher pg ratio). in general, 50/50 works completely fine in evods, higher vg juices i have to remove 1 or more flavor wicks from the top to keep from getting dry hits, higher pg juice, well, grab some spare silica and toss an extra flavor wick in to help slow the wicking.
