Why do the admins bash newbies instead of helping them?

Trust me. It's worth sticking around here.

If I were in your shoes, I would hit the proverbial RESET button, and start a thread in the New Members forum that introduces you to ECF properly. "New to ECF, but not to vaping" sorta thing. Tell us your story or whatever you want. I guarantee that you will get the appropriate Welcome that I am sure you deserve. You know, the good kind. :)

Before you know it, 20 posts will have come and gone, and you won't even have noticed. Then you can explore the Classies all you want, and I guarantee that you will find a subforum somewhere on this massive site that suits you, and makes you feel like you are in a place where everybody knows your name (cue the theme to Cheers, please).

Ezkill said it best: You get back what you put in. Sometimes it's tenfold. The nice thing is that since you aren't a vaping newb, you already have a lot that you can contribute. Help a real noob out, share an experience or opinion, give some advice...whatever. Just pull up a chair and stay a while. First round is on me. :toast:

High number of members means nothing. Quality of members means everything. For example. There is a particular member on this forum that has sold me a bogus mod and swore up down that it wasn't. Despite that I still joined here. One bad apple doesn't always spoil the bunch. However if the Admins are talking down to a new member then Bad leadership makes for bad followers.

@NancyR please state the true facts. I stated the facts of my experience. And also stated however there was no way to contact the admins. Maybe this was because I was a newbie and was not allowed to contact them. I don't know. Bottom line is everyone has their 2cents but there 2 cents did not help the problem and the best thing they knew how to do was closed the threat.

To join the classified threads the rules state you need 1 of 5 options. I chose the PayPal option and was still denied access. I followed the rules. Everyone in the Thread I created ignore that part of my post.

welcome to the forum - with that said - if you had read the new members rules that all are encouraged to do you would have known the rules. As is perhaps you should do that now straight away. It is against the rules to critique the adminstrators so you are on shaky ground. There is a whole page of rules for members of the forum.

I remember your thread, it wasn't anything but bashing the rules of this forum and the people who give of their time to run it.

I remember the thread as well, bashing the rules and the admins, because of spamming posts to get the post count up, then angry because the spammed posts were deleted. The rules are in place for everyone. Even if you have a verified paypal account it does not mean that you get to magicly skirt around the rest of the rules to get to the classified section. Those rules are in place to protect all members from potential scammers. I am not saying the OP is one such person, only that the rules are there for a reason.

Ill be the first to admit that ECF can be a bit strict for my taste at times, but their house, their rules.

I would personally get over it or move on. There is a lot of good info here and like any large community it's own share of drama.

Not sure what you are hoping to accomplish here but in my opinion it comes of a bit childish. The nice thing is that's just my opinion and you are free to ignore it (or make a reply ranting about it).

I hope you find a way to brush your shoulder off and accept that there is much more good than bad.

I remember the thread too. Nothing personal but I kinda laughed when I saw "High number of members means nothing." statement. ACTUALLY it means a LOT. That statement right there should tell you the majority find the rules palatable and acceptable. The rules are in place for a reason. The REALLY cool thing about these boards.......you dont' have to stay.

Now that being said. If you want to retry this, step in and follow the rules, then by all means step up and introduce yourself. LEARN the lay of the land BEFORE you start bashing things not to your taste. Follow the rules. We're a big twisted family that WILL help you.

Good luck and I THINK welcome to the ECF.

I've just been here a few weeks but compared to three unrelated and much smaller forums that I go to I'm impressed with the way this place operates. I was on one forum for at least ten years and the moderators literally caused thousands of people to leave. It's a ghost town now. I think the member count here does speak for the way ecf is run.

The only thing I'm reading in your initial post re: the admins are complaints.... Rules are there for a reason, I've had more than what - 600 post (can't tell right now, I'm typing on my iPhone) and zero problems, haven't even gotten noticed by the admins so far. And yes, I'm verified even though I'm rarely on the classifieds. Would you prefer a forum where everyone can sell whatever they want without anyone keeping an eye on things??? No, thanks, that's just asking to be scammed! You are stating in your initial thread that u will repost your message 15 times to get the required post - tells me you didn't do your homework and read the rules. Clearly, that's spamming.... Not like anyone wants to read the same crap over and over again....., just chill, think before posting, introduce yourself properly, and maybe even help new members with questions/issues. If you'd do that instead of only complaining, you'd have your post count in no time!

This is a private forum and they have the right to set whatever rules they want to. And you have the right not to use the forum if you don't want to. But if you choose to use the forum, then you have to follow their rules. It's that simple.

When I joined, I introduced myself, and the members here welcomed me. Then I welcomed new members too. Soon my posts were over the minimum required for access to the classifieds. I submitted my request and a day or so later, I was verified. Nothing difficult or oppressive about it.

My advice is relax, reset and start over. Lose the attitude. People will welcome you with open arms.

No you do not meet the criteria for being a verified member as of the time i read your post. Please read the criteria again.
This is where your problem lies. Your other thread was the same way- you didn't bother to read and needlessly complained about a situation that was quite trivial. ECF doesn't eat its newbies, but if you dislike the way the site is run you can try vapersforum.com I'm sure you'll be welcomed with open arms there :)
