Why do the Boge 510 cartos hate my juices?

Break a toothpick in half. Take one half in hand. Gently lodge the pointed end into the airhole until it's snug but don't force it. Now start dripping juice until it reaches the top. I've had a few in the past that want to be fussy like this. The weight of the juice will push it into the filler.

Thanks for this tip hairball. I may just give it a shot. At least this way no juice will leak where it is not supposed to go.

Same problem here, using same juices that soaked in fine before, new batch of Boges, same juice won't soak in. I even left them sitting overnight FULL of juice and it never soaked in. I tried using the carto and after about 10-15 draws, I got the burnt hit, took the drip tip off and there was a slushy pool of juice on top of the filler material. Majorly frustrating. And I did poke with a needle to try to get it to soak in, didn't help. They've obviously changed the filler material.

This is why I bought CE2s.

This is all pretty new to me. I've always used the cartos from Modern Vapor (I have a Sidesho) and haven't had any issues till I got these Boge's. But I'm getting an Infinity Pro soon with a 510 connection, so I'm just gonna have to make due for now since I don't wanna waste them. Just waiting for the syringes to come in the mail from Madvapes... For now, I can only use these cartos as attys--drop 3 or 4 drops (all it will hold), put drip tip on, 10 puffs or so, then repeat. :sigh:

And I definitely think I'll be switching to CE2's after this.

Interesting thread. I have generally used genuine Joye 510 cartos, but decided to give the Boges a try, just so I could pop the top to see how wet or dry the filler was. I experienced the same problem with the Boges, though: juice just would not absorb. The use of a different filler material may be industry-wide, because my Joye's are also responding differently and clog in a much shorter time than before. Thanks for the thought.

Wow, I wonder if there's some issue with the filler material that we're not hearing about... If it's affecting other brands then we all might have to go to CE2's. Hell, maybe they're doing this to force CE2's on us; you never know.

Same issue with the Boge's, though not to the frequency that it seems to be?

I've got 1 that I'm running with a Spearmint (clear) 50/50 from madvapes, the carto works fine, fill after fill, but I can't live on one flavor. My RY4 from Altsmoke is doing the burn-flavor every 4-5 drops, even though I try to fill it, and it pools on top. Ugh.

Just for an update: I got in some syringes today, and even a 20 gauge needle WILL NOT puncture this material. All it does is push the filler down and destroy the carto eventually (once you get angry and jam the needle in repeatedly). I am so ......! Is there a way we can get ahold of the manufacturer and get a refund or something?

im new to cartos but just got a pack of boges from lf's and first one absorbed super good and pulled good . Then the second one was a little tougher to absorb especially noticeable when dripping on top . The big difference was with the second i really had to draw long and hard to get a decent vape . Btw i use the condom method filling from the battery side with 32 drops . Using nhaler HV strawberries and cream . Not as flavorfull as the first one either . Maybe its possible with these new ones you have to use a lot more juice since it packed tighter ?

Put the syringe in all the way down between the filler and the side. Drip some, pull up the needle a little, drip more, then insert the syringe on a different side and do the same thing. Works great!

Just wanted to update my experiences with Boges. 2 new boxes, still having issues with juice absorbing. However, I did get a box of steel ones, I usually just buy black. Well, the steel ones absorbed just fine, I found that interesting.

I'm frustrated because I have suggested these to a newbie user and she's getting very frustrated because she's getting dry burnt hits. I took one of her cartos and pushed the juice thru it by blowing thru the fill end and that worked but IMO you shouldn't have to do that. This is a 50/50 juice and I've used the same juice and had it absorb just fine with older Boge cartos.

I use boba's bounty (100% VG) in those and it works fine albeit the flavor is somewhat muted and I top off often.
Condom, Condom, Condom method.

I tried the condom, put 10 drops in, inserted carto, left it overnight. Next morning, juice was still pooled on the top of the filler material.

did you try the syringe method that I suggested? I've never had a problem with it and i use all colors of boge cartos

Tried everything numerous times. I ended up, and and still am, using these as attys. The liquid just sits on the top, so I'll put a few drops in, use a drip tip and vape them like an atty. I've moved on to the ressurectors, which are amazing!

I just got a pack of LR boge cartos from CCV in the mail, and I am using 100% VG liquid. I am not having any issue at all with it taking in the juice. I do use a syringe. I put it down the side with the opening toward the filler, drip and pull the syringe up and drip some more. I do this all around till I can see the liquid on the top and let it sit for 10 min or so. I got ~1ml in with the Syringe and topped off with a few drops.

This is exactly what I do too

It must be a vendor-specific issue (I don't wanna mention the vendor because it would be rude). I ordered some from CCV today so we'll see how they work from me. I figured there's no risk since they have a guarantee. Hopefully they'll be a win, because once I get my VV Infinity Pro, the Boge 3.0ohm cartos from CCV will be a staple for me, so long as they work properly.
