Why do the evic get a bad rep?

My biggest complaint is how fragile it is. The fact of life is regardless of how coordinated one is, everyone will drop or knock there PV off a table. The Evic can not tolerate much impact to its control head. Another more or less valid complaint is it's limited power maximum handling ability. The menus system can also be a little confusing. Having said all that, I like the Evic for use on a normal range of tanks and atomizers.

The evic was my first mod after my ego about 11 months back right after they came out. I used it for about a month then I came in to some money and got a Provari.

If you like the evic and it works for you then that's all the matters , but I'll just say why I don't use it (I actually ended up giving it to someone last week).

It feels cheap, it feels like if I drop it it will break. It's a little too long for my tastes. The top cap isn't 22mm. It only goes to 11 watts (that's the big one for me).

A few of those complaints can be settled by buying this and I nearly did , but the 11watt thing is a deal breaker for me regardless of looks. http://www.byleo.eu/bOd_Telescopic_Battery_cover/p2043631_9573062.aspx

I have reservations about it because one drop killed it. I replaced it with a Vamo which I found did a better job for less money, in particular, I got a better hit from the Vamo. The only feature it had I missed with the Vamo was the USB recharge. The software for the eVic for both Mac and PC I used was buggy and worked poorly. The eVic cost me more than three times what the Vamo did. I don't hate it, but I sure am not going to suggest anyone buy it.

I got flamed on a UK forum for suggesting the evic wasn't a good buy for an unemployed vaper looking for a long-term "value" mod.

Like I said, I loved it.... but it's a fragile mod. I also think Joyetech are pushing the boundaries of acceptability by not offering a warranty on the wiring. That's how mine met it's end.

I absolutely love my evic. Has one of the coolest displays, easy to use, and puts out enough power for me and my rbas. I've dropped mine on carpet and concrete, and its still rocking. Great thing is when you buy a new tube and top cap it looks brand new again.

That being said, I have been through two only because I had a cheapo Atty that destroyed my 510 threads. So I bought another one. Other then that, I think it's great.
