SORRY ABOUT THE TYPO, I CANT FIX IT!! I meant to type: "Dripper" other "than" for clouds. I need to pay attention to the "auto correct".

Hi,
I just got a Origen rda. The store saids it's the "bee's knees"; not sure how that saying came to be. Anyway, I'm trying to understand why a rda would taste any better than my kayfun, but they said it does. Please enlighten me.
also any suggestions for a build for flavor? All I can find is builds for clouds and they don't interest me.
thanks,
Kim

Hello, from what I have found from dripper is with more juice being vapored you get more intense flavor. Also coils and airflow help as well.

If your used to say a 1.2 or 1.4 KFL build, try building the same coil twice. No need to go really low just more coil to juice contact. I like 7 wrap 28, which I think is 1.2 ish in my KFL. Try that x2 or 0.7 in a dual dripper.

Hope it helps and makes sence.

As Sthur said, try just making two of the same coils you would put in your Kayfun. That will keep the resistance high, and give some great flavor. I'm not familiar with that RDA, but I've been flavor chasing lately, and I vale bakery flavors, so they taste better to me when warm. I've found my sweet spot at 0.3Ω (Dual coil 7 wraps 24 gauge kanthal on a 2.9mm mandrel (wrapping post)).

What are you putting the RDA on? A mechanical? Or regulated?

Because.
You can't just open up your kayfun whenever you feel like and change the wicking or coil but with an rda, you just pop the cap off and everything is right there in front of you.

Strangely enough... that is my go-to coil build, also... I cut down to 5 wraps the other day for a .15 build and just don't get the same amount of flavor that I get at .3 ohms... I find this build even works well with fruit flavors... for me at least.

Flavor is subjective, however, I have a valkyrie full size and mini and the flavor from that little chamber in the smaller one outdoes anything I've ever tried. My Kayfun doesn't see quite as much use as it used to since the Valkyries happened. While not the most convenient, it sure does make the juice I'm using now more flavorful and full. At almost 60 years old, I don't worry about cloud blowing too much, lungs won't take it.

Super low ohms just don't do it for me. I like .3-.4 on my mechs. But, I built a 1.2 ohm single coil in a tugboat. I put it on a hexohm v2 and its fantastic. I'm guessing I'm at around 6-6.5 volts but its hard to say. No screens on a hexohm....dial to taste. Its a great mod.
Other than the Tugboats, the Origin is probably my favorite RDA. Amazing flavor. Try 9 wraps of .28ga around a 5/64" bit...two times. Make them vertical coils. I like using 1 piece of cotton for both wicks.

For me RDAs were all about becoming self reliant.

When I started vaping (2011) the FDA was involved in a lawsuit, customs was seizing shipments, and the end of vaping was looming over our heads. (thank you Njoy for not allowing that to happen) So I thought it prudent to learn how to make my own PVs, atomizers, and liquids. I'm just glad that others had the same idea, and made it easy.
The end result is that I will never have to buy a single vape related product again ... ever (unless I want to)

    Cullin,
I have both. Is one better than the other?
