if one decides to use 24 or less gauge wise, the watts are needed to heat up the coils... lower gauge allows for bigger coils, thus more wick contact, thus more juice evaporation, thus more flavor density..... :)

I disagree with that. If the AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) is the same, and the coil temperature is the same .... the flavor will be the same, and only the vapor will be denser.

Different atomizers have different requirements, so it's the atomizer used that will determine if it works best at ~10 watts, or +20-40 watts.

Right now I'm vaping an A7 with a 2 ohm coil on a mechanical mod. So at 8.8 watts, but more important is 2.1 amps. So an 1100mAh battery, and 4ml of juice lasts me all day.
My Helios with dual coils at 0.4ohms uses 44 watts and 10.5 amps, so it would use up that same battery and juice before noon. Both produce the same flavor. (provided you adjust the nicotine consumption to be the same)

Why do you need more than 20 watts? Because.

Sorry, couldn't resist :) Depending on your style of vaping, you might not. I still bust out my vamo v5 and (heavily modded) evods once in a while, and 15 watts is plenty. But with my rebuildables I'll push the 165 watt limit of my iPV3 if I'm feeling frisky.

So a small slice of banana will produce the same flavor as a whole banana eaten in one bite?
    Mind blown, kapow.

Do you even know what's going on right now??? Don't forget to bring a towel! Lol

even when I started vaping, nothing really would give me any flavor or taste until I started building to the 0.7-0.9 range. But, tis also dependant on the device too.

IE, I vape my kayfun at 12w and 0.9 ohms, but it has a tiny chamber. In Retrospect, I vape my subtank at 30-ish watts, but it not only has a larger chamber, but a 0.6 ohm coil.

Both have about the same flavor, and vapor production, but obviously the subtank (with my horribly inefficient coil) requires more power/juice. In its defense though, kayfun has a super tight draw and the subtank is wide open =P
