Ok so I am a newb, been vaping for three weeks now. I am using several tanks an I clear 30s with a 2.1 atty for a red apple from a local b&m on a mpv2. Everything seems great their. I also vape an ego twist at 4.2 v, with a protank 3 and a vanilla cake from the same shop. The problem is after a tank or two (I will refill when it gets down to 1/4 tank) the next tank turns from a red to a brown and has a much strongest t.h. But the flavor is the same. If I dump the last 1/4 of the juice from the tank it is nice and mild again.

so why does this happen is their something in the juice that doesn't vape? Am I running the voltage to high or low, or is this just a normal thing, and I should just toss the last bit of juice before I refill?

I don't toss any juice out, what a waste! It could be that your juice is cooking a bit maybe.. Especially if you hold the button down til it blinks, then take repeated drags in that fashion without resting. Perhaps if you turn your tank upside down, mix it around some it might help? Another possibility could be that your wick is wearing out? How long does it take to go through a tank? If it takes a couple days, and you leave your tank in sunlight, maybe that could be a factor.. Not for sure what you got going on there, just trying to throw some ideas out for ya.

Yup, I wash my tank out every fill, or 2 fills... This may be hard to do if you fill a tank up in the morning so you can have enough to last all day. I keep old dripper bottles (rinsed out with distilled water) on hand so I can put whatever liquid is currently in the tank aside in the bottle while I rinse tank, then I put that old liquid back in along with fresh liquid to top off for a full day of vaping.
Or if you are not cheap like me, dump the stuff, rinse the tank and start fresh :D

It's most likely the sweeteners and coloring that is caramelizing. My personal experience is that sweeter and darker colors do this more than light/clear juices that aren't as sweet. I have a strawberry flavor that starts bright yellow and is quite sweet, it gets dark fairly quickly compared to my orange flavor that is clear and is less sweet. My cinnamon roll starts off light brown and very sweet, and gets darker faster than the others.

All juice gets darker as you vape it. Nothing to get worried about. The only thing is when the juice gets dark it will gum up the coil faster. When its time to clean I really clean. Wash the wick in hot water, dry it out, and before I refill I pulse fire the coil to burn off the gunk (dry burn). Then rinse the ash from burned juice, dry it out again and now I have an almost new coil head. (wick and coil)

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you'll have to experiment a bit to find a good cleaning method that works for you. Or just keep buying new heads when they start giving you a burned taste.

I think it is just the gunk of the coils. I don't do it everytime I refill my atomizer but probbly every other time I do a dry burn. I also put Everclear in them and let them sit over night and give them a hot spa treatment in the morning and let them dry all day. Seems to help with this issue. Good luck to you. There are some really good YouTube's for doing a dry burn. I was afraid at first but the videos helped me. After you start rebuilding your coils, I lean more toward just putting a new coil on when it starts getting dark. Rebuilding is something I put off for a long time because i wondered if I could do it. Once again, it is super easy even for someone like me. heehee :)

This is why I switched to bottom fed mods, fresh juice every puff:)

I'm going out on a limb and guess that you vape like I do. Multiple hit or vapes in a short time without letting the button go. Does your ego and the bottom of your tank ever feel warm? It's the flavors caramelizing and the nic oxidizing. IMO Some of my sweeter ones do it.

'Nicotine oxidises when it is exposed to air, light and heat. Except with liquids over a year old, this is no problem and should not affect taste whatsoever.' from Wyoming vapor
