I started vaping about two weeks ago. I've been storing my juice in a box on the coffee table at about 65 degrees. I have cleaned both my clearomizers and replaced the attys. Actually I changed one because the flavor was bad and it fixed it. Then today both my PV's produced a gross flavorless taste. I cleaned and changed the atty in my second clearomizer. Hits better but still tastes like crap. Help.

How much do you vape per day, Ben? Could it be that your taste buds are temporarily muted? It happens to alot of people after a few weeks into vaping. Happened to me too. Don't worry, it'll come back.
What kind of clearomizers do you use? And at what Voltage do you vape?
Do you have some unflavored juice, or plain PG? You might want to vape this, just to see how it tastes.

Taste buds most likely or the juice you have might not have any acid in it, but thats highly unlikely. I don't know if your juice is manufactured in a factory or mixed by the vendor itself. If it's mixed by the vendor itself, it could be that you actually already used up the flavor in the bottle (very unlikely), but before you use juice, a good shake might help

Ok. I'm pretty sure what I'm tasting is nic/pg/vg. Its not a bad flavor I guess, I just don't taste much. I don't have unflavored juice to try.
I'm kinda broke at the moment.

You can get some real cheap at Wizard Labs. Just get a small bottle of like
80/20 pg/vg at whatever mg you vape ... 24, 36, lower or whatever. You
can get it for less than $5 plus shipping, which isn't much there.

If you can't get it now, get some in the future cuz it always comes in handy
for one thing or another.

Stay up to date with the Deals and Steals threads, and the coupons threads
so you can find something on the cheap. Sometimes vendors will offer free
juice samples just for the cost of shipping. I even got a couple the other day
that didn't cost me for shipping.

That thread is here (Deals and Steals):
Deals and Steals

On that particular post, I was able to pick up 30 mils of that juice tonight for about $8
including shipping. It might not be your style, but the point is to stay up with the deals
that are posted every day.

Also, here's a thread with free samples. This post will give you a fairly up to date
list:

Vendors with Free Samples

I also follow some of the vendors threads in the suppliers forums cuz they list last
minute deals.

Hope this helps, and believe me, I hope you get your juice taster working again.

Good advice on drinking lots of water; and also try to rinse your mouth with mouthwash two or three times a day. I had the flavorless vapes up until I started to swish watered down mouthwash throughout the day. You don't have to be constantly doing it, but it helps to clean up any residue from the vapor.

Good luck and vape on!

I've tried everything but smoking straight pg/vg/nic but I'm not sure what that would help. I have 4 different flavors that I cannot taste now. I've had others try them to make sure it isn't the juice. I have also had trouble sleeping so I cut down on nic levels in the evening. Still cant taste juice, still can't sleep. I'm beginning to think this is not such a safe, healthy choice. I'm pretty sure I have killed some of my taste buds with "vapor".

And I was never much of a smoker. I chewed a can a day and smoked swisher sweets for a week or two every time I tried to quit. So I smoked Swishers for 2 weeks after quitting this time and have been vaping 2 weeks.

We are somewhat similar here Ben. I hadn't touched a cig for over 3 years when I started vaping, but I was going through a can a day of Cope.

I say that, because most of the time comments around here about flavor involve something like "smoking killed your tastebuds", so I thought, well that can't be my problem. That said, for my first few weeks, up to a month or two, what I tasted while vaping, and what I wanted to taste while vaping, changed quite a bit. I went through the following phases: not being able to taste anything, everything tasting like garbage, everything tasting pretty good (maybe I just had good juices at the time) and now I'm in a phase (about 3-4 months of solely vaping) where I want a nice light tasting vape with just a hint of flavor.

The point being, your tastes for vaping will change over time, but after a few months they should settle down.

All of that said, if your getting a "bad" taste, especially if it's seems like somethings burning, you may be getting dry hits and you should take a look at your juices VG content (too high and it may not wick well with your delivery system) and/or your delivery system.

I second the recommendation on getting some unflavored pg/vg mix from wizard labs at your mg content. I have 120 ml of 100% pg and 100% vg at 18mg (my current dosage), and I use it all the time to adjust the pg/vg of the liquids I vape. Sometimes I just like diluting them because they are too strong, sometimes I just like more pg for TH. Whatever the reason, it's very handy to have and it's very cheap to get some.

I went through this a little bit as well Ben. I am almost certain that the nicotene absorption from vaping is considerably less than from snuff, so your probably detoxing a little on the nicotene. Nicotene relaxes you, and thus helps you sleep. Also, I would wake up several times a night having to urinate due to all the water I was drinking (which is good for you btw).

The good news is, it all passes and things get back to normal pretty quick, although I do still get up once or twice a night to pee, but I'm used to it and I'm practically sleepwalking when I do it. Give it a month or two and see if you can adjust to the vaping. I think it's worth it personally, as I have no doubt that while vaping may not be 100% healthy, it's 100% better than tobacco of any sort.

I read a good post yesterday. It was discussing the fact that all of us may lose
the ability to taste our vapes during the winter. To overcome this, the poster
uses a touch of menthol during those times. The person said it helps to enjoy
the vape more when they are all congested. I don't like menthol, but that made
sense, so I'm gonna get a small vial of it just in case. That might possibly help
any time flavor block happens, too. Just a little touch of it might go a long way.

I'm experiencing the same thing, after roughly the same amount of time vaping... but my friend who got me interested in switching warned me about it... that my tastes would change and things I first liked I'd not like later and the other way around. Thanks to all who replied with helpful tips... going to have to try the ones I'm not already doing!

I concur with this... it seems the 'more' frequently you vape and the longer your vaping sessions, the less flavorful your juices seem to become or taste. Try vaping only one or two 'hits' every hour or so and see if that helps. I've found that the longer I go between vaping sessions, and the shorter those vaping sessions are, the more flavorful and rewarding they are also. Every now & then you may get a box full of 'bad' atties that seem to 'burn' everything, but IF that's not the actual problem, then the 'source' of the problem could be the intensity and frequency of your vaping sessions. (JMHO) Good Luck & wishing you continued success! :vapor:
