Hey everybody.

So, some of you may have heard that I had a little trouble with an ignorant cop yesterday evening. In response, today I have been vaping like a madman. Chaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiin-vaping the whole damn day. It's been BEAUTIFUL.

Now, I'm a pipe smoker mostly, and I vape like one. I draw the vapor into my mouth and roll it around a bit before a blow it out. I used to blow my pipe smoke out my nose, but I've found I can't really do that with my vapor or my eyes and nose start to run like mad. Gah. So I've just been blowing it out my mouth today.

I smoked one bowl of pipe tobacco today (I say I averaged 4 - 6 bowls a day last week, but in reality, at this time of year it's more like 6) which is pretty damn good for me. But, like I said, I've been chain-vaping more or less steady since 9:00am.

Now, it's almost 3:00am. My throat hurts like a motherhugger. I don't know why. I haven't taken the smoke into my throat at all. It's been steadily gettting irritated all day, and now it's really bothering me. It's just now occurred to me that it might have something to do with the vaping, so I'm resolved to lay off it at least until morning.

So what gives? Have I just overdone it? Or is it possible I'm allergic/sensitive to something in my e-juice? I'm vaping RY-4 at 16% nicotine from thevaporshoppe.com. That's the "light" strength on their website. I've also been drinking OCEANS of water, so I don't think it's that I'm dehydrated.

So yeah, I'm hoping you guys can tell me if I overdid it, or if some sore throat is normal when you first start vaping, or if I'm possibly coming down with something, lol. I figure I probably just overdid it, but I'm asking anyway out of paranoia.

Your bodies adjusting to the chemical changes, if you smoke pipes then your body has "learnt" to expect certain chemicals coming into it on a regular basis, that goes for the throat too, cut back, give it time and remember, the Mayan Apocalypse happens tomorrow so it may not matter one way or another.

Actually thats 1.6% nicotine, or 16mg. I am wondering what is the PG/VG ratio of the juice you are vaping?

Higher PG in your juice may account for the sore throat. I am not implying you are allergic, but "sensitive"
I DIY my juice because my husband had a similar reaction to vendor juice at 65/35 pg/vg.
I mix it 50/50 and it is much better with billowing clouds of vapor from the VG.

If it continues I would suggest you try a juice with a higher VG, or try a 100% VG juice.

OR you just may be catching a cold/bug due to the stress from the week. Hey it happens.
Keep drinking water and take some extra vitamin C. It couldnt hurt.

Vape on :vapor:

This happens a lot, I have seen loads of threads like it and I also got a sore throat and sores in my mouth.

The PG in your juice dehydrates you, this can make your mouth and throat pretty sore. Best thing to do is to drink more, it is also a good thing to do anyway but will definitely help. It may take a few days to stop hurting too.

My experience went like this:
- Day 1: This is great
- Day 2: This is still great, I can vape in my home office all day
- Day 3: I better order some more juice, this is running out fast
- Day 4: Oh no! vaping has destroyed my mouth (google and find I need to drink more fluids)
- Day 5: Caffine and nicotine overload, mouth still sore
- Day 6: Decaf tea bought in bulk and mouth not as sore anymore
- Day 7: All is well in the world

Hey guys. So this morning, my throat hurt even worse than before. I loaded up on mah vitamins in case I'm coming down with something, and decided to lay off the vape this morning. It's now 2:30 in the afternoon. I've vaped a little and it instantly irritated my throat. I've smoked two bowls of tobacco, and that didn't bother me as much, although it still bothered me. I think I overdid it yesterday, so today I'm going to Altamonte to pick up some of the same juice I've been using, but in 0 nic to cut my stuff with. I noticed yesterday that I got a few OD symptoms, so I'm wondering if that's part of it. I'm also gonna find a CVS and buy some VG, in case it's the PG/VG ratio. I've checked the bottle and the vendor's website, and it doesn't say what the ratio of PG to VG is. Is there any other way I can tell?

The only true test is to vape unflavored nic juice or zero nic unflavored.. in various strength like 70/30 or 50/50. Its relatively inexpensive and you can use it to decrease nic levels in your juices as you go along down the road or add flavors to which are cheap... not wasted in other words. I have found both cinnamon and pepper "hiding" in flavored juices I would never have suspected they were in. They're used to increase throat hit. So many people think they have PG sensitivity and find out later that it was the flavor giving them a sore throat or tongue and not the PG.

Hey, Wyniverrn

You mentioned buying juice in Altamonte, is there a shop over there? New CFL Vaper myself, and I've been shopping online because I'm too lazy to drive to Esmokeronline.

I started about a month ago, and managed to get a sinus infection right after I started vaping. Not sure if it was related or not but I havent had any problems since that related to my transition to vaping.
