of the 10 boge cartos i got i gave 4 away. i actually got a moderate amount of use out of 5 of the 6. after those 5 got clogged i tried to clean them by forcing hot water through them with a turkey baster; they were all either too clogged to draw on or would not create enough vapor to be of use. the filler was so tightly packed that i could not get a needle down the side of any of them more than a quarter of an inch.
the one with the burnt taste still had a good draw and vapor but i could not get rid of the burnt taste. I pulled out filler, it was so tightly packed i could not remove it without ripping out the wire. there was a hugh black, burnt hole around one side of the filler in the middle.
then i removed the filler from an old SI mega carto. i had stopped using it because it had an airy draw and not much vapor. i has stopped buying the mega size for that reason. i'm thinking that the loose filler that works great on the standard SI cartos is not nearly as effective as it is with the standard cartos. the filler came out easily and was saturated with old juice. there was no burnt filler. the rest of the carto remained intact and i was even able to use it effectively for dripping at 4.0 volts on my twist.
a few weeks ago i got a 5 pack of SI cartos. after a good amount of use one stopped working well but i was able to use it by turning up the voltage. i eventually burned out the atty (after a year of buying SI cartos only a few burned out, but that was mostly before i extended their use by cranking up the volts on my twist. i cleaned another one and it doesn't work well on my standard batts but works well on my twist. another is only producing moderate vapor, i haven't cleaned it yet. the other 2 are still vaping like champs after at least 40 refills.
CONCLUSION: The boge's vertical coil in the middle of the overly packed filler is a bad design. if you pay more than 50 cents a piece for these then you have been ripped off. the smokeless image design of a bottom horizontal coil with loose filler is a vastly superior design, although it does not work nealy as well on the mega size. a used boge carto is worthless. I'm glad i kept my old SI cartos, i'll be using them for dripping.
