Why does the filter from the cartridge keep getting sucked into the atomizer?

I have the Joyce Ego and I am finding that the filter from the cartridge keep getting sucked into the atomizer. Is this normal? I can tell that this is happening because it seems more difficult to get a throat hit. When I open things up to inspect, sure enough the filter is no longer inside the cartridge. I've replaced everything with a new cartridge and filter, but after filling it just a few times, it seems to start happening again. When refilling, I am using tweezers to pull out the filter and being careful.

Is it because I am inhaling too hard trying to get a good drag or is it simply a fairly normal thing to happen? Perhaps it is because the fluid is getting too low inside the cartridge?

I haven't had that issue. I wonder if you got a bad batch of cartridges? I do notice that the filler moves down but, as of yet, mine have not go so low as to come out of the cartridge. It could be that the filler is getting too dry. I drip a few drops onto mine every 20 puffs or so. Hope someone will have an answer for you soon!

I know it's really annoying when you post a question and instead of getting help you get a suggestion to buy something different- but I'm going to do it anyway!

Sorry! Can't help it. I could never get cartridges to work. At all. I just gave up and got cartomizers. Sooo much easier. I do use the carts to test out juice but find the cartomizers so much easier. You might consider picking up a box.

I have the same model as you and I had this happen to me twice on the first day. I learned real fast not to twist the cart when I removed it for refilling. Now I just pull it straight out and it hasnt got caught in the atty since.

If you are not twisting the cart when you remove it, I have no other advice to offer as I am only on my 3rd day, lol!

What model? Most people use models with cartomizers available and use cartomizers for their favorite juices because cartridges do a lot of annoying things. If you want to use cartridges - if have a 510 try ordering the precut blue foam for 510 cartridges from strictlyejuice.com (search there for foam). If you have a tinier model you may be able to cut those down for your cartridges. if you want to try to find the foam locally, in the US the bulk foam is Marineland Rite Size U Bonded Foam Sleeve for H.O.T. Magnum Canister Filters (an aquarium product).

And find out if you can get cartomizers for your model. If you are using manual batteries (which I recommend) press the press in 1-2 seconds before you start dragging, drag slowly, right before the end of your drag let up the button, finish drag, inhale. Letting the button up a bit early can help release any suction that has built up. Also, if your stuffing is like pillow stuffing, try fluffing it up a bit so it may stay in the cartridge better. And one other thing - there is a white fiber on the metal mesh bridge /\ of your atomizer that belongs there - that is the wick that brings the juice to the atomizer coil. Don't remove that. Carts cannot be used without a wick.

Well my supply of blue foam and cartomizer's arrived yesterday. It goes against most opinions, but I like the cartridge with the white filling inside the best. The reason is because I like getting the resistance when sucking through the filter like a real cig. With the cartomizer, there is no real resistance between your mouth and the drip tip on the end of the cartomizer. Perhaps I will start to appreciate the cartomizer's convenience after I get past the mental block on wanting a real cig?
