Reads 2.1ohm on Evic, fires on Evic no problem. Put it on an Ego 650 and the light goes dead until i remove it. Ive built an Aro head at 2.1ohm and a Vapeonly BCC head at 2.1ohm and neither fire on the Ego. What i really dont get is, i have stock Evod heads at 1.8ohm, that read 1.8ohm, and work on the Ego. Its a 30 gauge kanthal 8 turn standard coil, nothing fancy. I built the Vapeonly BCC up because i figured maybe the Aro was shorting in the Ego but not the Evic for some reason, guess not

That's odd. It really shouldn't make much difference but have you checked that your coil legs are cut off as closely as possible?

You mean that once the Aro or the BCC is mounted on the eGo the fire button just goes dead? Does the fire button give any warning blinks at all when you are mounting the Aro or BCC or the first time you try to fire it?

Its on, when button pressed it lights up, until the head is screwed on. Cant be a short because the Vapeonly BCC coil head is packed underneath the 510, so a leg cant be sticking out etc. But yes once screwed on, hit the button, and the light only comes on for a split second before going dead, as if there is a short. Im completely baffled, both work totally fine on my Evic, mech mods, Vamo. Id figure too low ohm but my 1.8ohm evod heads fire no problem. Stupid 650s =( I wanted to make a rebuildable i could stick on one for stealthies

Irregardless of where it is, It IS a shorting issue. Your battery <which DOES have short protection-most DO> is seeing a to excessive load.

Maybe your battery center pin is being pressed down to hard/far.

Lightly lift the center pin - loosely attach the rebuilt unit just to contact point and test.

Edit: Just tested:
Ithaka - 1.9ohm 30ga. build
Riva 900 Battery
EGO 1100 Pass through Battery

Both fire the Ithaka without any problems

I know when it cuts like that its reading a short, im just trying to figure out why. I built in the Vapeonly which i havent used in a year just because the heads seat inside the 510 connector so if it were the leads shorting out it wouldnt be able to happen on 1 battery vs another. The aro wires i wiggle until they break so its flush with the rubber boot.

I tried pulling the center pin up and got it quite a bit, and it just cuts out even with it barely touching it. Im going to have to try an extra turn and see if i can get 2.2ohms to fire.

No one has been able to explain it but rebuilt coils do NOT work on eGo-T non-twist models. I personally have 2 of them and both have this problem. I have built dozens of coils that fire on everything except those batts. They only work with factory coils. The only thing I can think of that is different is factory heads use no-res leads and I don't.

Edit: The eGo-C series non-twist models are reported work properly with rebuilt coils but I have no personal experience with those. I moved from the eGo-T to Vision Spinners and those fire everything I have built.

I've seen that problem myself and still am unable to explain it. I've got 3 different ego batteries. Whenever I rewind a protank coil, the coil will work on two of them, and on any other battery mod, but on one particular ego battery it simply won't work. Not any resistance, not under any condition. Any factory wound coil will work just fine on that battery, just not any of my rebuilds. It's not a short, it measures fine on my meter, and it will work on any other battery. I'm going to toss that battery someday..................

Are all three eGo-T's or is one a T and the other two C's?

The one battery with the problem is simply labeled 'ego'. The others are store branded. When the rebuilt device is screwed on and the button pressed, it quickly flashes then goes out. Then, nothing. As soon as the device is unscrewed, as the connection gets broken the light flashes 5 times. If I screw on a factory device, even a dual-coil, it works fine. But, ANY of my rebuilds suffer the same fate...won't work.

On a side note, this one battery with the problem does not have the multi-click on-off feature, so it must be either an older or a cheaper technology.

Yup, thats what I have, an Ego T. You are awesome because i was thinking of picking up a spinner, and was afraid it wouldnt work either. Thank you

On an additional note this journey has made me realize a rebuilt Vapeonly BCC > a rebuilt Protank, super warm tasty vape in comparison.
