The flavor is simply a bonus as I view it... and a nice one at that. TH and robust vapor does it for me mostly. As it has been stated many times your like of certain flavors will change with the wind, but I suppose if you ate choclate pie all dat everyday you'd get tired of that too. Cowboy and Kamel are my staples.

WHAAAAAT!!!!!!??????? Not me!!! Gotz ta have me Chocolate Cake!!!!!

hehehe...reminds me of Bill Cosby:

*singin* "Dad is great! He gives us Chocolate Cake.....Dad is great! He gives us Chocolate Cake"
I love Bill Cosby Himself!!!!!

Oh wait....you said Pie....nah...you can keep the Chocolate Pie:p

I feel the flavor is what has made vaping so successful for me, as a path to not smoking.

I always said, if anything could make the cigs taste bad, that was what would make me quit. My first order got watermelon, and vanilla flavored cartos. I put the watermelon on first. I was worried that I might have put out a good deal of money for something that was not going to work for me...very worried. I took my first drag...WOW it tested so good. I used it for several hours. I then lit up a cigarette, and it tasted horrible, back to the watermelon. The next morning I started my day with a cigarette, and again, it tasted horrible. I've pretty much not looked back ( I did have a slip yesterday), I am loving finding new flavors I like, and as long as this tastes so delicious, I feel confidant that smoking is behind me :). The fact that this tastes better, keeps me focused on making sure I am always set to vape...not running out, bringing with me enough batts and cartos to get through the day. I need to keep this tasty, and easy, so buying cigarettes never seems the better( easier) thing to do.

So for me, taste is EVERYTHING!

Flavor certainly played a role when it came to picking a brand of analogs. I smoked Merits for years and they changed the paper which changed the taste so I switched to Camel Lights. Then they changed their flavor and I switched to Marlboro Lights (silvers) which I smoked until I started vaping.

I will admit that I unless I hear a lot about a flavor as being outstanding I don't just try random flavors out of curiosity. At this point I have 6-7 go to flavors which I am more than happy with.

+1 SnowDragon, on flavor being key in analog. I definitely could tell a difference in a change in flavors in my brand of smokes, although I couldn't tell what caused it, be it paper or what have you. I had smoked Salem Slim Lights for years, and suddenly, they were so menthol-y they caused me to choke. I couldn't stand them. After much trial and error, I switched to VA Slims Light. After a period of being quit, (5 years!) when I took up again, I found the Lights to be heavy, so it was VA Slims Ultra Light, and then the Purse Pack when it came out. Each step was a search for that very light menthol. I also had quite a hunt for a back-up brand, since the VA Slims Ultra Light and/or Purse Packs are sometimes difficult to find. I finally settled on Camel Crush.

However, I do try a lot of different flavors when it comes to vaping. I can't stand the idea that there might be that ultimate flavor out there that might have been my true sweet spot if I'd only have known. I've had some winners and some duds, but that's okay. I'll try to use up what I've bought, and eventually I'll settle down to a coupla few.

Flavor is VERY important to me. I can't vape grossness. Taste is way important, as is TH and vapor. All of it together satisfies my urge to smoke. Cigarettes were never yummy. Butterscotch is yummy! Grape is yummy. Vape can be yummy indeed!!! It's cool. I chase the taste, but must get the TH too. We're all different. I love certain flavors! Back in the day when cigs was something most people did, believe me marlboro and winston tasted different, they all did and taste was the thing. Now they all taste the same, probably starting in the 70s - early 80s. Pall Mall now tastes like they swept the tobacco off the floor. So to now enjoy taste again is major important to me. To me. I can only speak for myself.

Great thread, Plant! Here's an analogy for how I look at it. If a beer drinker must switch to wine only, he may be satisfied with the buzz while not noticing much else for a while. Eventually, though, he may begin to choose his wines more carefully as his palate clears and knowledge grows. Or may not.

For me and my vaping, I was more than half a year into the process before taste became the most important factor--but still not the only one. It's the overall experience, which varies by flav, that has helped me whittle down my choices to half a dozen. But if I had only one (a good menthol), I could get easily get by. The rest are a bonus. :2cool:

Flavor is key for me , i remember trying to quit analogs by switching to a different brand and that never worked ..i would rationalize that if 'this' was going to be my last pack of analogs I would at least do myself the favor of smoking what i liked...so of course that didnt work.I have only been vaping part time, and really have only tried vanilla and coffee, neither of which I can write home about so I switched to boge caros for my Riva 1100 and tried cherry just to see if i could taste itand first hit was alike wow...Im hoping to get some other samples and hopefully settle for one go to flavor full time and finally dump the analogs for good...have to say again stealth vaping at my desk is so ..well cool for lack of a better word ...feeling kind of naughty when co workers arent even aware...sweet... this whole vaping thing...glad I stumbled across this forum

i agree that flavor is not paramount...VAPOR is. but the flavor needs to be something you LIKE. I've become a VG snob recently for the loads of VAPOR hits. I don't understand how others can just buy 10 bottles of wowboy or 10 peppermint. doesn't your taste change? don't you want variety?

Variety is nice when it works, but when you've tried a multitude of flavors and only one or two work to keep you off the analogs, you go with what works.

When I started smoking Camel lights it wasn't about the flavor. But then my friend introduced me to menthols and wow!! I loved the flavor! And then I was introduced to cloves!! Again, loved the flavor. For awhile I would carry around 2 packs, one menthol and one clove and smoke whatever I felt like at the moment. So I guess I've always liked different flavors. Eventually I didn't care anymore, plus I was addicted and couldn't really taste them anyway, so I smoked KOOL 100s full time. I had an idea that I thought would get me off cigs...I would replace it with hookah :) But that was so much work that it never happened. While searching the net for easier ways/tips/tricks to hookah I found ecigs. I thought "WOW!!! IT's like hookah without all the hassle!" So I gave it a try. I haven't picked up my hookah since! I must admit that after using my ecig for awhile I tried a cig and that flavor that I loved was back!! So I like the taste of cigs. But the infinite possibiilites with ejuice keeps me interested and excited. I have never had an "all day vape". I had 10 that I rotated through every week. At the moment I'm trying some new ones and so I've only had about 4 or 5 different flavors this week. So I guess flavor hasn't always been a huge factor, but I like trying new ones and having a variety. As long as I continue using my ecig I think I will keep trying new flavors, whatever it takes to keep me off cigs!
Lol, I realize this post is all over the place, I hope it makes sense...I just woke up and I'm a little scatter brained :)

Plantlvr, it is the same for you as for me, it has to be a nice smooth vape, with a decent throat hit. WOWboy for a perfect example is so smoothe, and so nice, that I tend to use it a lot, Smilin is next on my list with great smootheness and throat hit. Then comes the almighty 555, which is really good. I do not like a lot of the fruit flavors, soda flavors and I recently got beer, not too good. I expected a bud lite or a "green bottled" flavor beer. The flavor itself has to be a very good tasting flavor, but even then, if there is no throat hit (TH) I will not use it.
