Why might I want a variable wattage/voltage over just a variable voltage?

Have been trying to understand this without much luck.
I currently have 2 Vision Spinners 1300 mah and 2 Evods 1000 mah. 1 set goes out with me and 1 set is charging and they are switched each morning. So battery life works for me with no problem.
I use Kanger Evod bccs and Iclear 16 clearos - for some juices I just like the warmer vape.
I have been able to find the "sweet spot" for my juices by trying different ohm coils and settings on the spinner. For many my sweet spot is found with just the right coil ohm on the Evod. I have never needed to set the Spinner above 4.0 volts for that spot.
It does look like fun to play with but I could by 2 Spinners for the price which I don't need right now.
So why might I want a variable watt/volt such as an MVP 2.0? What would I get that I am not getting now? Anything that size would be for at home only.

Thanks for helping me increase my knowledge. I learn so much from this site.

A VW device just does a calculation for you, that's it. After messing with it for awhile, let's say you decide you like vaping at 8 watts. It's going to automatically set the voltage to give you 8 watts of power, regardless of what resistance clearomizer you attach to it. As to what other features a vv/vw device has, typically you are going to get a digital display that allows for slightly more accurate adjustments and you'll get the ability to check the resistance of your toppers.

With different coil ohms you will want to adjust the voltage when changing coils. You raise the volts if the ohms go up so as to maintain approximately the same WATTS so as to get the same TEMPERATURE.

A VW device you set the wattage you want, and so instead of you having to manually adjust the volage, if you change the coil, the VW detects the ohms and adjusts the volts for you automatically.

its like an auto VV

I use both spinners and twists. To say the truth, they usually sit on the lower settings, constant. I have no need to have a provari type device. The toppers/tanks I use don't need too much putzing about. I assume that the people who rebuild and use many types of tank and resistances would use that function more than I.

Watts are a calculation between volts and ohms. Basically, once you know your ideal watts number, you can set it and forget it. It won't matter what coil heads you switch out for, it'll give you a consistently good vape. I still fiddle with mine because different juices like different temperatures, but if I need to change out a burnt coil on the clearo that I use for my Moo juice I don't even need to look at what ohms the box of coils are. I just switch out the coil, set the watts to my preference for moo juice and vape away. This is especially handy for my husband, as he's a less fiddling the better type. Also good for when I see a pack of coils on sale because they only have say... The 2.5 ohm coils left, and a lot of people like the lower res coils. With my MVP 2, I don't care. If they're a dollar off, I buy them and I'll get a similar vape as I would with 1.8 ohms, since I'm not a cloud chaser, and I rarely go over 8 watts. Furthermore, the MVP 2's battery life is longer then a 1300 mAh spinner, and it'll charge my phone in a pinch during my two hour commute. It was worth it for me, but if the spinner is good for you, stick with it. It's all really just preference.

^^What Tinkegrrl said. While I really like the VV of my twists and spinner, I love the "set it and forget" of the MVP2. Set the wattage to what you like (I'm generally at 7-7.5 w, I'm a "regular" vaper, YMMV), and it does the rest, regardless of different ohm-coils.

I really appreciate the built-in ohm meter, too. I "knew" something was terribly off with my new EVOD clearo. Yep, reading at 6.3 ohms (what?!).

For portability, "stick" batteries are very nice for your pocket, etc. Although the MVP 2 is not too shabby for out and about, either. It isn't any longer, and fits in my coat pocket or purse just fine.

Thanks for all the feedback and clarification.
It seems by looking at a ohms/volt charge that the preferred vaping watts for my favorite juices varies from around 6-7.5 watts so I don't have a single preferred vaping wattage. Seems low from what I see others prefer but I only know the ohms based on what is show on the coil and realize that may vary up/down.
My set up for right now seems to be working fine for me. I know what coil/clearo/juice setup works on both the evod and the spinner (generally left on the evod) and setup/settings work best the spinner.
I think I will pass on more variables for right now.
Again, thanks for increasing my knowledge. I really appreciate how willing everyone on the forum is willing to help.
