Hello,

I just jumped in DIY and maybe I'm having a newbie question here.

All the juices that I've made are too perfume so far.

I am using 10-15% of flavor only and tried alot of 2ml bottles just to try it out with different quantities of flavor.

anything between 10-15% of flavor is really perfume and I cant take it... its like vape a bottle of perfume with alcohol.

Does anyone have any tip ?

I've made the easiest recipe so far:

French Vanilla 1st try (its ok... but doesnt have too much flavor)
4 drops TPA French Vanilla
1 drop sweetener
2ml VG

French Vanilla 2nd try (its like perfume)
8 drops TPA French Vanilla
2 drops sweetener
2ml VG

Any tips?

You may be using too much flavor and you are definitly using too much sweetener

Sweeter like sucralose is like 1 drop per 5-10ml

What type of sweetener are you using ?

Also some TPA flavors are a bit perfumy . French vanilla shouldnt be too bad though . Try doing 40 drops of pg and 6 drops of french vanilla .That should be 15% and a good place to test .

Most important rule of DIY is too much flavoring = no flavor/perfume flavor

Your problem may also be that your using vg and the flavors not coming through . I find with vg you need to let it steep .

Bitter wizard and magic mask are not flavors but they do work to fix juices . Bitter wizard will remove sweetness and magic mask will remove unwanted pg/vg taste i think . Both only need 1 drop per juice .

Man with all the sucrolose you had in there no wonder why you didnt like it . 1 drop is equal to 600 teaspoons of sugar or somthing like that .2ml of juice is too little amount for sweetener . You can take a drop and dilute it a little first though .

With sweetener, less is more. If you're making batches that small, I'd dilute your sweetener some more so that one drop will do the trick.

You could also try sticking a tooth pick in the sweetener and then swirling it around in your juice, so that only a teeny amount is being added.

Toothpick idea is really awesome . I will be using that from now on . Genius !

That small of a batch won't take long to steep, maybe a few hours. I would leave the top off and see if some of the perfume taste goes away. Most don't use vanillas as a single flavor but rather they use them as a flavor to compliment something else. Vanilla is one of the hardest flavors to make on it's own. Maybe start with something easier or add another flavor.

I am using TPA Sweetener. I bought it from OneStopDIY, and yes its a sucralose one.

I got Dark Vapure, Desert Ship, Virginia, Bitter Wizard and AAA Mask from LF. (all from Flavor Arts)

Did you ever tried them?

Thanks for all the help Str8

Desert Ship from FA is strong. I use 1 to 2 drops per 5ml depending on how much flavor I'm looking for. Then wait at least a week before you taste it.

Hoosier; I apologize for any misunderstanding! I simply meant some mad scientist moments creating a liquid, or some stories about watermelon patches. Hmmm....

Anywho, back to sweetener, a lot of juices simply don't need any. So taste first without any, and the toothpick idea is brilliant for the ones that do need it.

Not even close. 1 drop = 1 tsp. EZ-Sweetz
I have never had sucralose make a mix taste like perfume. Over flavoring is the most likely reason.
