I'd probably want to use a rebuildable. I'll have to look into what's small and decent and can be bottom fed.

The RM2 is an awesome rba for REO. Ceramic base, cooling fins, the thing never gets hot (and I vape .9Ω Micro-coils). What are micros? Something like this.

Mind you, ↑ that's not an RM2. ↓ This is.

So it seems that *most* people here started dripping, realized how superior the vape is, and had a hard time going to anything else... interesting :)

I think that you hear a lot from the drippers but that most of us tried it and hated it. The drippers are a vocal minority lol.

I call dripping "the guess and mess". You can't really see how much is being dripped so you have to guess, then when you get it wrong it's paper towel city or coughing from a dry hit. The entire reason cartos, tanks, clearos and bottom feeding systems were invented is because dripping is such a pain in the .... to most people.

These hardcore drippers, i don't doubt they are having a great experience but for me I could never master it. Sometimes, when I lucked out and all the planets aligned, I'd get that perfect hit, but mostly it was a lot of dry hitting, substandard drags and so on. I get a lot more vape from like a vivi nova that I do dripping. I know they will say "YER DOING IT WRONG" and they are probably right, but drippers are in the minority.

I even have some rdas. I've done ok building coils, but I always seem to either flood the thing or I don't put enough juice in. The other thing I've noticed is I can get like 2 great hits and then I'll get a dry one. If I put it down for a minute or two, it's back to being fine. I'm a chain vaper and I can't have this, lol.

No doubt there is a learning curve for dripping, and learning can be frustrating. Flooding, dry hits, even popping an atty or two are just part of that learning curve, and should be expected when a person wants to learn how to drip. Those things become distant memories as a person becomes experienced ... problem is there is only one way to become experienced, and that's to stick with it.
The comment I still laugh about was "wait until you try hitting that little hole in the dark"!

As for two good hits, and then a dry one, sounds to me like a coil that is wrapped to tight around the wick, use a larger diameter wire that you lay the wicks against to wrap the coil around. The reason for that wire in the first place is to insure that the coils are loose around the wick.

I used 32 kanthal wire but yes I'm still learning. I did use like a safety pin to wrap with so it seems to me it shouldn't be too tight. I plan to keep at it I guess. I'm just not that patient, I want to be awesome at it RIGHT NOW.

I see you have a REO there. Does this get rid of the hassle of dripping? Like for real? Does it work every time and never leak and so on?

I've considered a Reo a bunch of times, but that whole buying process is so cumbersome. I'm also looking into the Bogger bottom feeder because I want a nice wood box. You have any experience with those? Does it perform as good at the Reo?

About the Reos - Yes! Yes it does without fail, everytime. If you wanna drip without the ritual, you'll want a bottom feeder. I'm on my 3rd month of reos, never looked back.

I would recommend going with a vvg as your first bottom feeder even though there are cooler dna12/20 box mod variants on the market, for one reason - their homebase support-wise is on ECF and is larger/richer than any support wing boggerbox or redskymods has to offer.

Not meant as a slight on rsm or bogger, just that reos has been around longer and has a larger support base. Plus the reo-veterans like TJ are super friendly to boot, that's always a plus. Worse case scenero, you can pick up the phone and call Robert (creator).

If you get a vvg this will be your new home - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/

My reo is my "traveler", I can drip & drive without ever taking my eye off the road with it. Besides being great with an atomizer, the little shorty SmokTech cartos are a real winner on them.
What happens with a Reo is that you can flood the atty when you squeeze the bottle, but (with in reason) when you release the bottle you create a bit of a vacuum which will just pull the extra juice back into the bottle. So it's about as leak proof as anything out there.

There are other bottom feeders, but there's only one Reo.
Actually their buying process is simple, you just use your CC through PayPal is all. So you make your CC card payment to PayPal, and then PayPal pays Reosmods. You don't have to be a member of PayPal, or anything like that.

And where might one find this elusive "REO" of which you speak so highly?

Bite the bullet and buy a Diver or a Killer, both are rebuildable in tank atomizers, all the dripping flavor with the convenience of a tank when out and about. Or you can try the cheap route first with the Raven from Got Vapes. They call it a carto but it is really a disposable in tank atomizer. I use all three and today my Vela Latina arrived for my Caravela, it is a tank system for the 306 atty...loving it!

vvg is probably the Reo Variable Voltage Grand, dna12 and dna 20 are chipsets that are used in some mods, the DNA 20 is new and only just showing up in some kinda pricey mods, it allows for VV and VW and most have an integrate USB charger and allow for more power than most VV / VW mods.

I regret having started dripping. I wish I avoided it and never bought the cheap little squid RBA to try it out.

    ...

Now I don't find anything else even remotely satisfactory. I started on a pretty generic 808 kit that was overpriced, and it got me off of smoking analogs right from the start. These came with standard sort of cartos, but I pretty quickly switched to small clearos and never went back... so I have a bunch of cartos I gave away. Then I switched to V4L VVs, mostly because I thought I could save a bit of money and keep using the bunches of clearos I had... but decided that was silly to keep sticking to 808, so finally ordered a Vamo and quickly moved to give away those V4L devices. I figured I wanted to avoid plastic, so went to the ProTank to use on my Vamo. I love the ProTank for a lot of reasons, even more so after figuring out how to rebuild them with some help from ECF members. Anyone who's read some of my posts would know I have a problem with most ejuice, I really don't taste much with any of them, it's rare for me to get more than a hint of flavor from anything (thank goodness MBV lets be pump up the amount of flavor dumped into my juice)... but now... Dripping........ WHY DID I HAVE TO TRY?!

I figured if I could rebuild in the tiny space in a ProTank, an RBA would be easy-peasy... and it is... and damnit, it makes everything taste SO much better. I can fine tune the draw, the ohms (a lot more variation here than I can achieve in the ProTank), and get amazing, massive, beautiful clouds of delicious vapor. Dripping is such a PITA... no convenience what so ever, I don't want to have to carry a bottle around with me and drip into a tiny hole... I'm scared now that I may end up with a bottom-feeder, which I don't like the size and shape of just for the sake of being able to get that drip-flavor on the go. I've contemplated looking into some genesis based RBA tanks, but damnit, that means I'll have to get rid of these protanks once I fall in love.

Have you tried the EVOD. Much smaller, less airy, but sam flavors.

Forgive my ignorance but my curiosity has been peaked. I have a long barrel hh357...can you use that in a tank? Sorry I just really got into dripping so I still have a lot to learn but I'm loving it so far.
