Why sub ohm?

So i recently bought a sigelei 32b and an AGA T2. Used mesh and wrapped it at about 1 ohm, and it is HOT as hell. From what i gathered the lower the ohm the hotter the hit? So this is why i ask the question. I dont know if i just did something wrong or what but this hit is so hot i cant even smoke it and i have no flavor

head to the RBA section.

but quick answer... is a question...

What wire were you using?

For 1ohm, the highest gauge i'd use is 30... more likely 28, this will dramatically change the heat profile.

I'm currently vaping a dripper at 0.4 ohm dual coil using 28 gauge... it's not as hot as a 1.7ohm 510 atty on an ego.

Wire size is 28g. My friend is actually who wrapped what i was using. I just said eff it and pulled it out. Saved it tho to use down the road when im in a hurry. I actually just wrapped a new one and...perfect! on my first try lol. pretty friggin pumped. Did the 3-4 wrap. works like a charm, all my coils lit up in unison. givin myself a good ole pat on the back right now haha

yeah, at 28 it had to be a hot spot issue... glad you got it sorted out... Happy Vaping!

Glad that worked out for your man :) To answer your question about sub ohms though... When setting up a rebuildable you there are a few factors that you want to consider to decide on how hot you want your coil to be. The most important one is the air flow. If you're using a genesis tank and you have a small air hole (which I know the AGA does) then you don't want to have you coil very hot. Sub ohms are usually a bit too hot for my liking on a stock AGA top cap. If you wanted to blow some cloud then you would want a very hot coil (.7 ohms or below) and a larger air hole between 1/16th and 1/8th in diameter (1/8th is a gaping air hole btw). Also, very important, when you're rolling ss mesh wicks you can control how much juice is going to you coil. If you're vaping say for instance, a .4 ohm coil on your genesis then you want to be sure you're getting plenty of juice up to your coil, otherwise you'll be getting some serious burnt hits no matter if your coil is firing perfectly or not. I usually start with a extremely solid wick and pull it in it out of the wick hole several times and keep unrolling rolling it slightly and trimming off a small section at a time then letting the wick roll up itself a bit so as to "fluff" the wick out. The solidness of my wick will be determined by how hot my coil will be.

Hope this helps, happy vaping!

I kinda get it. So say im still getting some hot hits. I dont have a multimeter but im sure my coil is pretty low becuase i rolled that mutha tight. Your saying i need to drill my air hole out a little bit? I have already drilled it out a little larger, but if i were to guess im still not getting enough fluid up through the mesh. What can i do to help that? Someone gave me some pointers. They said to roll the mesh around a 3mm piece of silica.

Stop now and get a multimeter or other device you can measure the coil resistance with.

Yes, seriously stop now before you blow your batt in your face.

The most important rule about RBA's is to know your ohm's, you could be putting alot of amps through your batt which can lead to battery failure and hot gasses in your face. Plus you could have a short and not even know it. You need to do some reading before you go any further into rba's, lots of research, learn the basic rules to rba's and sub-ohm coils, it might save your face.

One other thing you won't be able to fire a sub ohm coil on a vv/vw device. They tend to have a 3.5 to 5 amp limt on the 6 volt devices. The best suggestion I can give you on what type of mod to use with a rebuildable that you plan and using mesh in and going sub ohm is to use a mechanical device with an 18650 lithium imr battery. Always know what your batteries amp limit is and calculate what the amp draw is off the battery. Rule of thumb, when you go below .6 ohms you are making your way into the 8 amp + range and you really don't want to use anything less than the quality of an IMR battery and a good one at that. Look into AW 18650 IMR batteries. To find the amperage you're drawing off your battery divide 4.2 volts (freshly charged 3.7v battery voltage) by the resistance of your coil, voltage/resistance. The reason I recommend that you use 18650 size batteries is because they have higher continuous amp limits than say 18500 18490 or 18350.

Defenitely invest in a resistance checker with a 510 connection on it and/ or get a multimeter and learn how to use it properly ;)
