Just curious as to why such a remarkably innovative product, that obviously helps get people off cigarettes has no advertising. I would think there would be TV commercials, Radio Ads, or at least a late night infomercial. I am a firm believer in ecigs, but everyone that I talk to has never heard of it. II have hear one radio ad for smoke assassin which I discovered through researching them a little was a scam. From what I can tell ecigs have been around for over a year, yet no one I know has ever heard of it. If I had an ecig business I would be doing radio, TV, billboards, etc. Just wondering why it hasn't gone mainstream. My ecig quit working and I have gone back to cigarettes until I get my replacement, and I can't stand it. The taste and smell is horrible, I find myself tossing them before I am done. I can't wait until I get my ecig back.

I've found that when something big that's good happens, the media especially helps to keep it a big secret, at least to the best of their ability. Generally, the powers that be don't want evils like smoking to stop. Tobacco is big big business. So are Pharmaceuticals (keeping people sick).

Look how many people and industries would lose big money if the cure to diabetes was revealed. My son pays more that $400 a month for Insulin and tests himself very infrequently because he just can't afford it. He's sure there's a cure, but that it won't be revealed as long as diabetes makes so many individuals and industries rich.

Not all people think getting smokers to stop smoking is a good idea. In fact, stopping smoking is an evil idea to those who profit financially from it.

1)Radio and TV commercials cost lots of money (tens of thousands or even up to several million depending on many factors).
The majority of the reputable PV suppliers in the US can't shell out that kind of money right now.

2)Some of the PV Suppliers likely don't want to bring too much of the wrong attention to themselves. Look at Smoking Everywhere? They had the most coverage when it comes to getting their name out there and they were the first to get a large amount of product seized by the FDA.

3) word of mouth advertising is working so well already. Seems like there are more and more US suppliers popping up all the time, and there are still plenty of customers to go around.

4) Internet advertising is cheaper, and very effective all by itself. By default, most people on the internet enough to see an electronic cigarette ad like technology to some extent and are therefore more likely to buy than some little old lady watching Oprah in the back woods country someplace that couldn't figure out how to turn ON a computer with tech support on the phone and an IT guy right behind her.

I'm betting they all play a roll, but most likely 1 and 2 are the biggest factors (most likely combined) I know they would be for me if I were a supplier.
