I was a heavy smoker (2 packs a day) for 40+ years.
I recently started vaping and love it. But now I am a heavy vaper as well.
What causes the sore throat I have now...particularly at the roof of my mouth in the back?
Sort of like from the sinus area there.
It can't be the heat...,cigs were more,,,,,I really can't imagine it could be from the nicotine either.
Is it the PG/VG or is it just getting used to a new thing?
I know in the past I would get a sore throat and other things when I 'quit' smoking or if I just changed to a different brand. Is it merely me getting used to the change or what????

I have read here somewhere that some folks get a mild alergic reaction to PG, do you have any straight VG to try?

Not a veteran here, but I did have a similar experience. My first ecig needed more "drag(?)." My 901 is much easier to activate. I'm a serious vaper right now (I've read that that may pass somewhat, but I'm not counting on it). Anyway, I don't have the sore throat I had with my Blu in the beginning although I use some of the same liquid. Don't know if it's the lesser resistance of the 901 or just having vaped for longer, but it's not a problem anymore.

I do all VG, so PG hasn't played a role in my experience.

As already mentioned, drink more water than you ever have before.
Listen once and hear me twice....I recently returned from way too many months in Kandahar and let me tell you, dehydration can KILL you. When your potassium level gets too low, you are a heart attack away from "toes up".
It happened to me...every joint, and some places I don't even have a joint, ACHED like you would not believe. Death would have been a gift. All because I was badly dehydrated. I had been vaping a lot. I mean A LOT. Stress of things going down I suppose. Anyone with any experience will or should tell you that vaping W I L L dehydrate us. For those that don't believe me....good luck.

That can also contribute to sore throats...sore everything.
I learned a valuable lesson that I really knew, but do to the demands on me at the time and lack of sufficient water, it happened. Never again. I would stop vaping if I didn't have enough water, because I have learned what happens when I vape a lot and not drink enough water.

Good luck....and vape on. :vapor:

For me it is nicotine (which is a skin irritant) + too little VG to buffer it. When I vaped 100% PG 16-18mg juice my throat would get a bit sore and my tongue would feel the same as after it gets burned by too-hot cocoa - sort of numb and sore at the same time. But I had no problem at all with 70pg/30vg juices.

Some people are extremely sensitive and need a ration with even more VG, or even all VG

Downside - VG cuts the TH which is actually the harshness of the nicotine

In addition, drink fluids.

And gargle with mouth wash. When my throat feels a little "iffy" from using my 100% PG juices, this is what I do - gargle, drink some water, then go back to vaping and I'm usually fine. :)
