Why Using Kanthal on Joule Mode (TC) Will Cause a Problem?

I have read on my local vaping community saying that by using kanthal on Joule Mode (TC) will cause the mod to spoil. There is no technical explanation to support the argument but seems people agree with it. Can someone explain me is it true or not?

I don't have joules mode as I have a dna 40 but when using kenthol by accident"temp control mode" it almost emidiatly says temp protected. it doesn't work properly. it doesn't hurt my mod though.

That it will spoil your mod is highly unlikely if your mod even allows you to do so.(most mods will jump into power mode) It will not vape properly anyway so why risk it? Just get some ni200 or Ti wire.

Its due to kanthal having a stable resistance when heated. The mod can't detect the resistance changes like ti or ni200 have.

Just set my SX Mini to joule mode. Didn't hurt anything, just gave a "Dry Coil" message and didn't fire.

Switched back to power and worked fine. Hardly "spoiled" anything.
